About Trinity-First United Methodist
Dual-Language NAEYC Accredited Downtown Care
Trinity-First Day School has been an El Paso staple since 1952, providing a dual-language environment where children naturally acquire Spanish and English. The program follows national NAEYC standards, focusing on play-based discovery alongside structured activities like art, chapel, and physical education. Operating out of the historic Trinity-First United Methodist Church, the facility offers a sanctuary atmosphere in the heart of downtown El Paso. Lead teachers bring deep experience to the classroom, including a dedicated art specialist with over 17 years at the school. Parents stay connected through dedicated WhatsApp groups, receiving daily photos and progress reports on their child’s activities. Beyond the core curriculum, the school offers various enrichment options such as dance and yoga. The environment is designed to be inclusive and diverse, aiming to build a strong cognitive and spiritual foundation for every child while respecting their individual pace of growth.

A loving, community-involved congregation. Great preaching and good music, too.if you can't attend in person, catch the livestream Sundays at 10:30 am on Facebook. Search Trinity-First UMC, El Paso!
The daycare/preschool here is great. And they’re very cautious during the pandemic. Edited to add: In the end we were not very happy with how they treated our second child, so we took her out of this daycare and went somewhere else. Felt a bit betrayed, or at least let down, by that experience.
Beautiful Church in the heart of El Paso, only 5 blocks from the downtown district, so it's easily accessible from all of the hotels down there. The people are friendly and make a traveler, from out of town, feel welcome. The stain glass windows are stunning. It's easily accessible on Mesa Rd. and one block from I-10. There is ample parking as well. It's a great place to enjoy God's Blessings in El Paso. 😊😊😊
I've had both my daughter and son here since 2011 and love the quality of the program, the caring teachers, the experience and professionalism of the program director, and the close-knit community of children and their parents. Excellent school!
This is the 4th child care center my children have gone to. Other child care centers cannot even compare to the care, the experience, and the attention that my children receive at Trinity. My children LOVE going to school. The teachers are well-skilled and provide enriching lessons and experiences for each student. I am a teacher myself, and this is the first child development center I have sent my children to that truly feels as if it is providing a rich academic atmosphere for both of my children. I wish I could be with my children all day every day, but I feel so comfortable and happy that I have such a wonderful place to take my children every day. Other child care centers my children attended felt over-full, stressful, and loud. Trinity feels like a second home to my kids. We're so lucky to have found it.

Safety Record
No safety concerns or major violations were found for this location. State records indicate it has been a licensed child care center (Operation #195122) in good standing since January 1987, with no recent news of closures or legal issues. It is important to note that high-profile incidents involving similarly named 'Trinity' schools in Midland, TX, and Huntsville, AL, are not associated with this El Paso facility.
Parent Reputation
The facility maintains a strong reputation as a long-standing institution in El Paso, having operated since 1952. It is frequently cited as a top-ranked private preschool in Texas for affordability and diversity, and is described by parent-research platforms as a 'renowned' bilingual program. While specific parent testimonials are sparse on major review sites, the school is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
Staff Insights
Employee feedback is mixed; a review for the affiliated Trinity-First United Methodist Church in El Paso reported a toxic environment due to management, though it is unclear if this extends to the daycare staff. The school requires a minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA) degree for its teachers. Staff-to-student ratios and professional development are noted as priorities in its 'Time to Sign' and NAEYC accreditation standards.
