Belden Street Montessori School has served the Sherman community since 1986, offering a warm and established learning environment within a converted house setting. The program is built on Montessori principles, focusing on the development of the whole child by fostering independence and cultural appreciation. The campus is a significant differentiator, featuring xeriscaped flower gardens, organic vegetable and herb patches, and a dedicated nature park where children engage directly with the environment. The school maintains four classrooms designed to be child-centered and age-appropriate, serving children from 12 weeks through kindergarten. Each classroom is staffed with a lead teacher and an aide, ensuring attentive care. Children participate in "practical life" skills, which include food preparation and caring for their surroundings. This approach creates a family-like atmosphere where education and daily living skills are seamlessly integrated into the curriculum.
