About Timberland Kiddy Corner

Spacious Spring Center with Extended Hours

Established in 1981, Timberland Kiddy Corner has served the Spring community for over four decades. Director Linda Tervay oversees a program dedicated to holistic development, balancing educational milestones with social and emotional growth. The center is uniquely structured to support working families, offering one of the latest closing times in the area and transportation services to and from local schools. The facility features a tree-nut-free environment where daily meals and snacks are included in the program. Inside, the atmosphere is described as relaxed and home-like rather than institutional. Long-tenured staff members, frequently praised by name in the community, focus on creating a family-oriented experience where children from two weeks to 12 years old can learn through a mix of curriculum-based activities and recreational play.

My daughter and I visited the facility today and perceived racial profiling. The lady who gave us a tour displayed an unprofessional attitude upon our arrival, making us feel unwelcome. The brief, five-second tour further solidified my concerns. The infant teacher remained silent and gave a discouraging look, as if we were insignificant. The tour guide, whose name I did not catch due to my discomfort with her demeanor, mentioned that parents are typically not allowed inside the building, and I was not permitted to enter the classroom, which limited the scope of the tour. I wondered how parents are expected to assess the environment without being allowed inside, especially during a tour. Consequently, my child will not be attending this facility.

My kids went here a little over 3 years and I never had one bad experience with them. They treated my kids like their own. My daughter would come home showing off her cute hair do her teacher did several times a week for her. Doris greeted us with a smile everyday, making my kids excited and comfortable to go in. Not to mention how great I felt leaving my kids in their care thanks to Doris, Linda, and Ruby. My kids have learned a ton while learning to be good humans. We are so sad leaving them due to us moving, but if you're looking for somewhere to go this is the place! I was referred to them by someone & I hope to be able to continue it because of how great they were!

My kids used to go here for many years until we moved. They grew up there. 4 kids. They rotated through all of the age groups with my last one starting in the nursery. The location was convenient for my life and I loved 98% of the staff. Ms Ruby and Ms Linda treated my children like family. When my kids were unruly, they each had their own special way to deal with them and their personalities. I appreciated our time there and grateful for them. It’s been many years since we were last there, I just randomly thought of them today and decided to leave a review. Miss them -Ehrman kids :)

My daughter was enrolled here on a part time basis last year. We loved it! The staff are all very friendly and caring. Inside appeared clean! It's not a "stuffy" day care. It seemed relaxed and more like a home environment. I like that they had a curriculum for teacher letters, numbers, shapes, etc... Do not be fooled by the outside. In my experience, the fanciest, newest places are not always filled with caring staff!

I'm a little surprised that I'm the first one posting a review of this establishment. Our daughters have attended since March 2016, they are 6 and 2. One goes full time, and the other rides the van from David Elementary after school. Linda and Ruby are amazing, as well as all the other teachers. All the employees are friendly, respectful, and informative. The grounds are always kept up nicely and the rooms are always clean. They're affordable and my kids have never come home sick. They also have a "pull-thru" driveway that makes coming and going easy, and they're open until 7:00pm, which is great for jobs that close at 6:00pm - or later. We highly recommend The Learning Center!!
