About Covenant United Methodist Church Preschool
Established Play-Based North Austin Preschool
Covenant United Methodist Church Preschool has served North Austin families for over 35 years. The program offers a nurturing environment for children aged 12 months to 5 years, operating Monday through Thursday from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM. The curriculum is play-based, centering on the philosophy that play is the primary method for learning. Facilities include a dedicated shaded playground, a multipurpose room, and a library. Led by Director Jan Glosser, the staff includes teachers with degrees in education or child development, many of whom are former parents of the program. While the school facilitates a community snack time, parents provide their own lunches. The program follows the AISD calendar and is closed on Fridays and during the summer months. Enrichment classes are available for families seeking extended care until 2:15 PM.
What Parents Say
4 reviews from parents
Over the past few years, we have tried several preschools in the neighborhood and while they are all great in their own ways, CUMC Preschool takes the cake for it's excellent staff (many are previous school teachers), wonderful facilities (with an awesome playground), and a thoughtful curriculum for the kiddos. I've had kids at every grade level at this school and each teacher has been wonderful and engaging. The director, Jan Glosser, is so welcoming, warm, kind and knows each family personally which makes you feel right at home. We love it!
Both my boys have attended this preschool. The teachers are all wonderful, caring, and knowledgable about educating preschoolers! The community is amazing, and it is actively fostered by a great director and staff!
We love this school so much! Our first boy went there since he was 2y/o, and he loved it so much that he kept saying he wanted to go back when he started kindergarten. Now our second boy goes there as well and I have seen such an improvement in his personality. All the teachers are amazing, Ms. Jan (Director) is amazing. They all truly care about our kids, and you can see how much they all love being there. They also work very hard on having a good community with all the families. It honestly feels like a huge family.
We live in the neighborhood and have been sending our daughter to Covenant UMC Preschool since she was 1 (now 3), and she loves it just as much as we do! The teachers are amazing, and you can really tell they care. They always come up with such fun and creative activities that keep the kids engaged. The director, Jan, is the kindest, most welcoming person, and we’re so fortunate to have such a wonderful preschool so close to home!
