About YMCA of Abilene Preschool
Abilene YMCA Preschool and Learning Center
The YMCA of Abilene- Preschool Center provides a structured environment for children from 18 months through school age. Utilizing the Opening the World of Learning (OWL) curriculum, the program focuses on essential kindergarten readiness during the morning hours, transitioning to play-based activities in the afternoon. As a licensed center with a capacity for 123 children, the facility offers a robust environment including a dedicated early childhood wing and an outdoor playground equipped with a swing set and jungle gym. The program integrates physical activity through access to the YMCA’s gym and aerobics center. Operating Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, the center provides breakfast and afternoon snacks, while parents are asked to provide lunch. Director Jackie Wilson leads a team focused on a family-oriented atmosphere, though families should note that certain services may be prioritized for YMCA members and pricing varies significantly based on membership status.
What Parents Say
3 reviews from parents
This is an amazing daycare my daughter has been going here over a year Ms Jackie and all the employees are so amazing with the little ones ! my daughter comes home beaming everyday and has learned so many new things
The staff is just rude and unprofessional! The teachers are negative. They tell you everything your child does wrong, but never anything positive! They don't inform you if your child has had a fall or injury. You just find random scrapes and bumps not knowing what happened. If there is a billing issue, they tell you in front of everyone instead of privately! When you call, they will tell you someone is not in and send you to their voicemail and you walk in and the person is right there!
