About Life Time
Life Time Champions Kids Academy
Life Time Houston Champions offers a dynamic childcare experience within a 108,000-square-foot luxury fitness complex. The Kids Academy and seasonal camps cater to children from 3 months to 12 years, providing an environment centered on physical activity and skill development. Children have access to professional-grade amenities, including indoor and outdoor pools with water slides, a rock climbing wall, gymnastics areas, and full-sized basketball courts. The program focuses on healthy habits through active play and structured classes such as swim lessons and yoga. While the facility is a premier fitness club, the childcare section is a licensed operation that includes snacks for all participants and purchaseable lunch options for camp attendees. With extended operating hours seven days a week, it provides a flexible solution for active families looking for an athletic and engaging alternative to traditional classroom-based care.
What Parents Say
5 reviews from parents
As a first time mom, I was hesitant to join a gym club as you never know about their childcare program/workers. Upon meeting Summer & Kristen (the childcare supervisors/managers), I knew my baby would be in good hands and I could not have been more right. They are always so wonderful, kind, happy, and loving towards all the children that are in there at any given time. It makes going upstairs to work out so much easier. I’ve also never encountered anyone that isn’t in a good mood. To the people folding towels or the people at the front desk, everyone always seems happy. I am so glad we joined this place! We love you Kristen & Summer!
The woman who works the 4am morning shift at this location during the week is always so kind and welcoming. She has such a positive energy and really sets the tone for a great workout and an even better day. Being greeted with a smile every morning truly makes a difference. I really appreciate her and the consistency she brings.
I can't say enough good things about my trainer, Jeremy Batiste. He has been providing couples training for my husband and me for several months now. Jeremy is good at pushing us to increase our strength and endurance but at the same time has been sensitive and respectful of our individual needs and limitations. He has excellent skills as a motivator. I am also impressed by the Lifetime Fitness facility. It is clean, well maintained, and has a staff that is friendly and helpful.
If you want a great experience with small group training come here! Great gym with great people! Ask for Nico, Carolyn, or Jeremy! They are the best. Cheers
Not sure where our membership dues go. Machines are constantly not working. The place is disgusting. The floor is always dirty, the lockers are never kept clean, people’s cars get broken into, the sauna windows are sticky… please explain why we pay so much monthly for this place to STILL look like it did 10 years ago on many levels

Safety Record
A shooting incident occurred outside the facility in February 2026, where two men were hospitalized after a suspect fired randomly into vehicles; one victim sought aid inside the gym. The facility is a licensed child care center (License #1508856) with a capacity of 120 children. No specific state inspection violations for this location were explicitly detailed in available reports, though the brand has faced child-safety lawsuits at other Texas locations.
Parent Reputation
Parent sentiment is mixed, with some praising the 'Kids Academy' and camps for their convenience and variety of activities like rock climbing and swimming. However, other reviews express concern regarding the young age of the staff, describing them as primarily high school and college students, and some parents reported difficulties with staff responsiveness to distressed children. The facility maintains an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, though it is not BBB accredited.
Staff Insights
Employee reviews for the Houston location indicate a fast-paced and fun environment, particularly for summer camp counselors who describe the role as straightforward. Conversely, some former employees have reported 'toxic management' and issues with favoritisim or lack of support regarding scheduling and time off. Overall employee ratings on platforms like Indeed hover around 3.1 to 3.4 out of 5 stars.
