Mediocre. I’ve been a member on and off. Back when it was $75/mo to currently over $200/mo. I thought I’d give it a chance—perhaps tripling price in 10 years was more than just inflation catch-up and there would be no more maintenance issues. I am this close of quitting again. I don’t because swimming is the one exercise I enjoy and can only do there. But there is an ongoing sense of lack of ownership, pride or care. Showerheads with no flow. Things breaking every week (clothes spinner was out today—the only powered gear I use to avoid bringing home a drenched bathing suit). Lights at the changing room entrance were dark as a catacomb. Days ago it was wet towels thrown all over the locker room, and no soap in the dispensers outside the bathroom stalls (or anywhere in the changing room, for that matter). We had several days this week where the full gym was out due to a blown transformer. I get it, things happen. But if you’re charging $200/month, I expect more than average. I don’t need bells and whistles—just good care and maintenance of what you already have. Is this much to ask?

I've been a member for over a year now, and let me just say, this membership is worth every penny. I thought about leaving 6 months ago, and trialed other gyms that were cheaper, but quickly realized no place is cleaner than this place. - and cleanliness and organization is a necessity for me. You can see the staff regularly walking around cleaning the equipment and putting stuff back where it belongs (when people leave things where they don't belong). I will say though, this is minimal. The culture of the other members, is mostly to put things back where they go (also a pet peave of mine at a gym). They have so many amenities that I love - the steam room, the hot tub, the outdoor pool. I mainly use the weightlifting equipment, but I will do a class here and there, and I love the variety to choose from. I LOVE their spin class - Kristina R. on Friday at 12pm - is a MUST! I love the GTX classes when I'm looking for a bit of strength training and HIIT, and when I want a restorative class, I hit up the Surrender Yin class in the state of the art, yoga studio (it smells of essential oils, and has capability for hot yoga). If you are in to cold plunges, they have this too - it's just not my thing, but my husband loves it. There is so much space to do what you need to do - so much equipment, you can always get through your workout easily. There are times in the day that are busier than others, naturally. I typically go around 10-11am - and it's wonderful. If you can wait until 2pm, it's a ghost town in there, and you can move through your workout quickly. Anyway, I'm a huge fan, and I don't see this membership as an expense, rather an investment into myself, and my mental and physical health. I walk in and feel better instantly knowing I"m doing something for myself, and have all the choices in the world depending on what I feel like that day.

This is my first time being a member of a bougie-adjacent gym, and lemme just say, I get the appeal. I love LifeTime! I really enjoy this location's arrangement of updated equipment. I don't often have to wait to use a machine. As a severe germaphobe, I also appreciate how many cleaning stations there are (now only if everyone would use the wipes as much as I'd like...). I love all the amenities the gym offers; the InBody scan gave me the opportunity to do a body composition test when I otherwise would not have, and the cafe has plenty of options. Shoutout to Mabel, the first friendly face I met when I joined! All the employees are really nice and seem genuinely happy to be there, which makes a difference. My only qualms: I wish they had saunas in the respective locker rooms instead of coed(I've seen other Lifetimes in the US and Canada do this). Also, I wish the towels were longer. I wouldn't necessarily consider myself to be in a larger body, but I need two towels just to walk through the locker room comfortably lol. Anyways, for all that Lifetime offers, I think the membership is absolutely worth it, and I actually look forward to heading to the gym because of how nice it is. I'm a fan!

Mrs. Kristin at Lifetime Concierge is incredible. She helped my guests check in with zero stress and handled everything quickly and professionally. She was super helpful the entire time and did it all with a genuinely happy, positive attitude. You can tell she loves her job and cares about making people feel welcomed. Her energy, kindness, and willingness to go above and beyond made the whole experience smooth and easy. Lifetime is lucky to have her — she’s the kind of person who makes you want to come back. Highly recommend!

Outdoor pool is my favorite! they have underwater robot cleaner that cleans the bottom and I often see their staff cleaning the fallen leaves which I love about autumn, but not in the water. Equipments are new and up to date. Towels are sometimes folded into elephants and pup, little touch like that often makes my day. However, yoga rooms can use some air circulation before and after the previous class. Anytime I step in the women’s shower and locker room is always organized & clean, the cleaning lady is awesome! Probably the reason why I enjoy this location than Sugar land, never too overly crowded. InBody machine has a printer so you can be old fashioned and keep a paper copy to compare your rates! Oh and did I mention, their açaí bowl, is amazing! Perfect snack or a meal after training.

Aggregated insights from public records & parent discussions

Safety Record

In June 2007, an accidental chlorine gas leak at the outdoor pool resulted in 10 hospitalizations; the issue was attributed to a system malfunction and subsequently resolved. In February 2015, two individuals were arrested for a robbery involving cell phone thefts inside the facility. No recent state licensing violations or major news incidents involving the childcare program were found for this specific location.

Parent Reputation

The facility is generally regarded as an upscale, 'athletic country club' with high membership costs, often cited between $200 and $500 per month for families. Parents on local forums and review sites frequently praise the cleanliness and the high quality of the Kids Academy and summer camp facilities. Common criticisms revolve around the high price point and difficulties with membership cancellation and billing policies.

Staff Insights

Employee reviews from the Katy location describe a work environment with high-energy activities but report issues with management and low wages. Specifically, camp counselors and swim instructors have noted concerns regarding management 'favorites' and inconsistent pay structures. Despite these issues, staff members frequently mention positive experiences working with the children and their coworkers.
