Gator Academy was an absolute blessing while I worked in DISD. Mrs. Lopez, the director, is literally an angel. She cares about every child that comes in the door like they were her own. She expects excellence from all staff, and it shows. All teachers my children had were amazing, and my kids love them. My kids loved the teachers they didn’t even have as well. The “lunch lady”, Mrs. A even formed great relationships with the kids. My family could not have been happier with our children’s time here!

Web Report

Aggregated insights from public records & parent discussions

Safety Record

No safety concerns or licensing violations were found in public records for Dickinson ISD Gator Academy. The facility (License #1520519) sustained severe flood damage during Hurricane Harvey in 2017 but was subsequently restored through community and district efforts. General district records indicate the facility is part of an asbestos management plan with periodic inspections ensuring safety for all occupants.

Parent Reputation

The academy has a positive reputation within the Dickinson ISD community, described by the superintendent as a 'very successful program' that remains consistently at full capacity. Public parent reviews are virtually non-existent on sites like Google and Yelp, likely because enrollment is restricted exclusively to district employees. Sentiment from district-level sources emphasizes the facility's role as a vital, high-quality benefit for staff.

Staff Insights

Employee feedback for the broader school district is generally positive, highlighting strong community pride and supportive environments. One review from a district educator noted professional concerns regarding management gossip and unprofessionalism at a campus level, though it was not explicitly tied to the Gator Academy facility.
