About A PLACE TO GROW CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER

Bilingual Early Learning and Care

A Place to Grow II provides bilingual and multicultural learning for children from infancy through school age. The program focuses on preparing children for their first years in school through a curriculum directed at early childhood development. Operating from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, the center is a dedicated resource for working families in El Paso, offering five daily meals and transportation services to and from local schools. The facility features specialized environments for different ages, including a nursing area for infants and activity-filled classrooms for toddlers and preschoolers. Directors Valerie and Laura are frequently commended for their attentiveness, though parents should be aware of historical supervision challenges. The center is particularly noted for its active calendar of crafts, field trips, and holiday celebrations that keep students engaged throughout the year.

I am very happy with this daycare. From the very first day, they made me feel comfortable leaving my child in their care. The staff is kind, attentive, and always pays attention to every detail. I really like that the teachers plan both educational and fun activities, which have greatly supported my child’s growth and learning. The facilities are safe, clean, and well-organized. You can truly see the love and dedication they put into their work. I highly recommend this daycare 100%.

I wouldn’t recommend this place. Incident with my son getting hurt and although there were FOUR adults in the room they all had their backs turned to the children. Even though video was provided and it was visible what had happened no one bothered to tell me and was told nothing was visible on camera. Poor communication and professionalism on staffs part.

Our children ages 3 and 4 attended A Place to Grow. The staff was professional and attentive to our children. The daycare provided year round activities which involved family time on holidays and activities for the children. We never had any issues. I know my children are really going to miss the staff.

After moving to El Paso and needing to put my daughter in daycare, I was very hesitant on where to take her considering I was new to the area and she is my first child. After doing research on different daycares, this location really grabbed my interest. I took a tour of the facility and met some of the staff and automatically knew I wanted this to be the place that my daughter meets her first friends and learns from her first teacher. The staff made me feel very comfortable and at ease about leaving my daughter here while I went to work. I could not ask for a better daycare to take care of my sweet baby girl. Thank you.

My 15 month year old had been attending A Place To Grow since she was 3 month old. The teachers and administrators have been outstanding with my child’s care. They always give me cuddle gram letting me know when they changed her what she ate and when she napped. If there are incidents they are quick to notify me about them. Just like school teachers have student to teach ratios they also have teacher to child ratios in place and do their best. I have nothing but great things to say about the management and staff. Thank you for watching over my little one. Keep up the great work A Place To Grow!!

Web Report

Aggregated insights from public records & parent discussions

Safety Record

In 2018, a four-year-old child was left in a daycare van for approximately one hour in triple-digit temperatures, resulting in hospitalization for heat exhaustion. In 2016, a five-year-old was found at a neighboring karate studio after leaving the facility unsupervised, and investigations revealed the child was allegedly made to perform push-ups on concrete as punishment. Previous citations include tying down a child during nap time and improper diaper-changing procedures.

Parent Reputation

Parent sentiment is mixed, with some local families expressing trust and appreciation for the 'kind and loving' staff, while others have reported serious safety concerns via news media. Reviewers on platforms like Winnie and Google often mention the facility's convenient location and bilingual curriculum. However, negative feedback frequently centers on management and historical safety incidents.

Staff Insights

Employee reviews indicate significant dissatisfaction with upper management, which has been described as 'unprofessional,' 'unqualified,' and 'unorganized.' While staff members report enjoying their interactions with the children and the educational aspects of the job, they frequently cite low pay (often minimum wage) and a tense or stressful work environment as major drawbacks.
