About East Dallas Developmental Center

East Dallas Development Center Community Program

Established in 1980, East Dallas Development Center (EDDC) is a non-profit childcare center uniquely governed by a board of current parents. The program serves children from six weeks through five years old, focusing on developing social, cognitive, and physical foundations in a play-based environment. Leadership stability is a hallmark of the center, with Director Kathy Fields and Assistant Director Pam Beaty both holding degrees in child development and maintaining tenures at the school since 1999 and 1985, respectively. EDDC provides a comprehensive care experience including catered lunches, snacks, and diapers. Parents value the village-like atmosphere, frequently participating in social events like fall carnivals and wine socials. The curriculum effectively prepares children for the transition to elementary school, with many parents reporting high academic readiness.

We love EDDC! It has been such a great experience for our family. The teachers and staff are so wonderful and welcoming. It’s so helpful that diapers and lunches are provided! The other parents were very helpful when we made the transition from our old daycare. I love how many social events there are for the parents. Joining EDDC has been more like joining a community and we are so happy!

We love EDDC! Both of our kids have attended, and now that one is in elementary school, her teacher has noted how well prepared she was both academically and socially. We adore the teachers and director / assistant director. It makes it so easy that diapers and wipes as well as meals and snacks are included, and Friday night babysitting has saved us many a time! We also like that it’s a 501(c)(3), run by a board of parents of current kiddos. It’s a great place to get involved with volunteering, and we have formed great friendships with many families through extra activities like carnivals, parents nights out, sign n gos, and more.

We love EDDC and are so grateful they are part of our "village"! It is super convenient, the hours are great, they provide food (& diapers), but more importantly - our kids are so loved & the community is amazing. The Parent Group is great at organizing things for the kids & families, Friday Night Sitting is an awesome benefit. I love that the kids move up to new classes in August, so they have the same teachers all year & move through as a group. I also love that it is a 501c3, run by a board comprised of parents - which means they are invested in the success & outcomes of the center. But the teachers & staff are the cherry on top - many have been there for years & are so kind & caring. I could go on...

We LOVE EDDC, the teachers are so caring and the location is great. They provide catering for the kids that hits all the health concerns and the kids love the food, they provide two snacks and lunch. They also provide sitting nights weekly and diapers/wipes. The teachers helped my kid with potty training and learning so much! We love it and my kids love it!
