About The Salvation Army Family Life Center
Salvation Army Youth Education Town Afterschool
Operating out of the North Texas Youth Education Town, a Super Bowl XLV legacy facility, this program provides a structured environment for students in grades K-8. The curriculum is centered on academic enrichment, homework assistance, and character development, all within a Christian framework. Located near the University of Texas at Arlington, the center features specialized areas including computer labs and performing arts spaces. The program is designed to meet the needs of the local community by offering affordable care through state childcare subsidies. Students benefit from nutritious daily snacks and access to recreational facilities during their time at the center. Led by Lieutenants Jeremy and Jillian Warf, the program aims to provide a safe and spiritually grounded space for youth to learn and grow after the school day ends.
What Parents Say

Whoever picked up the one at 11:43am was very rude and disrespectful. I was trying to get help as I'm a homeless single mother and have a child. Spoke with attitude and when I asked for her name she refused and hung up.
I am a disabled widow with many disabilities I became homeless in TX and I went to the Salvation Army seeking shelter on July 28th with my Service Animal and the entire staff wa very rude. Ms. Martha denied me and my Service Animal shelter she spoke very rudely to me about my Sa I informed her tjat she was a state licensed SA she stated she didn't care and she was denying both of us shelter bc she was afraid of dogs. My Service Animal was not a threat to anyone she was laying on the ground . Martha stood in the door with it cracked and layed games. She refused to give me any information to file a complaint nor her Supervisor information. She said she was over the facility and she didn't have a Boss. I was already facing a hardship and this experience was very uncalled for. I plan on taking actions against this facility for a violation of my civil rights and denisl of a service animal. This was the worstexperience I ever had suring a hardship
While I was attending UTA and cannot find parking space, I decided to park on the street in front of this place on Border Place— not in their parking lot. They thought it is cool to put a note on my windshield threaten to have my car towed. There is no "no parking" sign anywhere on the street.
I briefly did community service there to pay off a traffic ticket. That was a mistake. The entire time I was abused by a member of the staff. That staff member constantly used profanity and made physical threats for no reason. I finally ended up just paying the traffic ticket. A bad experience. Much better to just pay my traffic ticket than try to work it off in a place ran by a bully. And they call it a "Christian" organization. Really. Give me a break.
This is an awesome resource with a great facility with a positive objective unfortunately my rating reflects my interaction with staff who operate the summer children's program. Rudeness and disregard are not traits such employees should reflect when representing a charitable organization which is affiliated which public sponsors. They truly need training in interpersonal skills before you can be entrusted with dealing with children and the public.
