What Parents Say
5 reviews from parents
Both my kids went to Leap Ahead Learning and we've had the best experience for many years. Caring owner, staff and loving environment.
Our son attended this day care from the age of 11 months to 3 years old. During the time he learned so much and was well taken care of. Any time he got any bump or scratch the director, Ms. Rita, would send me a text with a picture of the injury and let me know what happened. Any time I had a question Ms. Rita was very communicative and always made me feel at ease. We will be using this daycare again for our future children. It is very sad that disgruntled employees are trying to make a bad name of this business. Please take any negative reviews with a grain of salt.
I'm sad that our time with LAL is coming to an end. Our son was there from 7w-9 and our daughter has gone from 3m-5. Rita and her staff are the most amazing caregivers and teachers. They have gone above and beyond time after time, year after year for our kids/family. From teaching the kids sign language, potty training, writing, reading and more to providing a safe & fun learning environment along with field trips and morning/afternoon school transportation. I have never once worried about my kids safety and wellbeing. They both enjoyed going to school and looked forward to seeing their teachers and friends. We've seen several improvements along the way. From transforming the physical structure to providing an academic curriculum for the kids to the addition of the splash pad (fan favorite) and snow cones on Wednesdays to all the exciting summer field trips. I urge you to do research via the dfps website of the local daycare centers and you'll see the LAL stands head and shoulders above the rest. It's a shame that some people want to ruin the reputation of Rita and LAL. 💚🐸
Leap Ahead is such a great daycare! They are always so friendly and the teachers are some of the Best. They are so patient and always watch the kids and have them doing something educational. I would highly recommend this daycare. My kids have attended this daycare two separate times, years apart and it has never lost its 5 star review in my book. Great job Leap Ahead!

Safety Record
As of June 2025, Leap Ahead Learning was the subject of an investigation by the Seguin Police Department and the Texas Department of Health and Human Services following allegations that a teacher slapped a 5-year-old child in January 2025. The child's parents reportedly were not notified of the incident until five months later when informed by a former employee. While the teacher involved was suspended for three days at the time of the incident, the facility reportedly did not initially report the matter to the parents or police.
Parent Reputation
The facility's reputation is polarized by a mix of high praise and the 2025 assault allegation. Some parents on platforms like Care.com describe it as the 'best place for children in town' with hours that accommodate most jobs, while news coverage of the slapping incident and a five-month delay in parental notification has caused significant public concern and calls for transparency.
Staff Insights
Employee reviews on Indeed are mixed, with ratings ranging from 2.0 to 4.0 stars. Some former staff members describe a 'comfortable work environment' where they felt appreciated, while others noted that management struggled with scheduling and that the workplace became highly stressful when staff called in, leading to insufficient coverage.
