I. FOUND. MY. 2 YEAR OLD. ALONE. INSIDE!!!! All other teachers and students were OUTSIDE!!! Do NOT take your children here!!!! Yesterday, my 3 year old had an appointment. So I dropped off my 2 year old at daycare. When I returned to drop off my 3 year old after her appointment, I noticed that all of the kids were outside. So I started putting away my 3 year olds backpack and heard a moaning/crying behind me. It was my 2 year old. She was left alone in a classroom while everyone else including teachers were outside. I picked her up and made sure she was okay. I then went outside and asked who she was supposed to be with. A teacher said “oh she’s with me” as if it weren’t a problem at all that she was left alone inside. I asked “if she’s with you, then why the hell was she inside alone?” And the girl was confused. The teachers and director all have conflicting stories CPS has been notified and there is an active investigation. Do NOT bring your kids here.
DON’T SACRIFICE YOUR CHILD’S CARE for their CHEAP RATE and LONG HOURS. No toilet paper in the bathroom and no hand sanitizer at the door and a foul odor as soon as you walk in. All things that made me run and not even speak to the front desk person the first time I visited there when I was shopping for childcare. However, after so many ppl say they knew ppl that used them, I decided to take a second look. This place is FAR from a private school. It’s dirty, stinky, has untrained staff, and self righteousness upper management. Apparently I’m told by their operations manager, STACY, that I’m a problem because I ask too many question that give away their poorly run, all cash asking, shady daycare. No parents allowed in the classrooms to see what environment their kid is in. I can only assume that I’ve been racially profiled; as I’m told I’m not a good fit after asking normal parent questions about the way the daycare is run. The kind of place that is a warehouse with long hours for kids so you can work. Staff misinterpreted my detailed questions about keeping my child there as me being difficult. I’m a 3x mom, from ages 20 to 1 y/o. I have used several daycares for over 20 years and never have I experienced such self righteous unprofessional racial profiling. The reason they gave to me that I’m not a good fit was because I was ‘undertalking’ to my husband during the tour. When asked did they hear what I was saying they said NO. AND because I didn’t want my voided check sitting on the front desk when their worker said she was unsure if she knew how to process my ACH debits.
Unsanitary. Unprofessional. Staff is treated well and parents are treated like they should be lucky to be there. We have withdrawn both of our children from this daycare and are highly disappointed in the childcare that they provided. The staff are very unprofessional as well. For instance, Stacy, the operations manager, treated my wife very poorly to the point of her being driven to tears and labeled her as being a problem simply for asking questions. Stacy was only concerned with how her staff felt and was not interested with any of my wife’s concerns at all. Today, I picked my 12 month old child up from this daycare shortly after dropping her off and found her crawling on the floor in tears and no staff members were attending to her. This was her first day and there were already signs of neglect. The overall building is not clean (frequent foul odors) and yesterday I found my 4 year old playing in the dirt outside instead of doing any structured activities. My wife and I have withdrawn both of our kids from this facility. I would not recommend anyone to send their children to this facility. It is unsanitary and the staff are very unprofessional.
The staff and teachers at Walnut Creek Academy have built such a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment from the very beginning. My children feel loved and supported, and they even see their teachers and staff as part of their circle of friends. It’s amazing how many staff members know my kids by name, and it’s such a joy to see how excited my children are to greet them each day. The teachers devote genuine care and attention to each child, and it’s heartwarming to watch my child run to embrace their teacher after a difficult morning—turning what I expected to be a tough drop-off into a moment of comfort and joy. We feel so fortunate to be part of the Walnut Creek Academy family, and I know it will be a bittersweet day when our youngest eventually outgrows the program.
Walnut Creek Academy has been a wonderful experience for our family! The teachers are caring, attentive, and truly invested in each child’s success. My kiddo loves going every day and always comes home excited about what they’ve learned. It’s such a welcoming, safe, and fun place.
