About Lena Pope Early Learning Center

NAEYC Accredited Center with Nature Playground

Lena Pope Early Learning Center provides a high-quality educational environment using the HighScope curriculum and Conscious Discipline strategies. The program emphasizes both academic readiness and emotional intelligence, helping children learn to problem-solve and regulate their emotions. The facility is a standout in Fort Worth, featuring certified Nature Explore Classrooms and the Marty Leonard Nature Explore Playground, designed to connect children with the natural world through daily outdoor play. Operating since 2012, the center is led by Director Mariah Hubbard and holds a 4-star Texas Rising Star rating alongside its prestigious NAEYC accreditation. The space is warm and communal, often described by families as a 'second home.' While the program is highly sought after for its dedicated staff and nature-focused curriculum, parents should be aware of the significant demand for enrollment, with waitlists often extending two years or more for younger age groups.

Unfortunately never got proper communication stablished to enroll my kids. Called a couple times people got my number to call me back. NEVER got a call back. Anyway, would have been very convenient to have my kids enrolled here but I hope the staff is responsive to prospective inquiries.

As a young mom, finding a place where I felt truly supported and comfortable leaving my child was incredibly important—and Lena Pope Early Learning Center was exactly that. From the very beginning, Mariah and Robin made me feel so welcomed and reassured. Their kindness, professionalism, and genuine care for both children and parents meant the world to me. I always knew my child was safe, loved, and in great hands. I’m so grateful for the positive experience we had here—it gave me confidence and peace of mind during such an important time in both of our lives. Highly recommend!

Lena Pope was a dream for my son and I. My son started at Lena Pope around 9 months old until he was 5. Each teacher holds a special place in my heart, and the entire team. Jennifer C. Is the director of the school and she really cares about the children, staff, and the parents. I never worried about my son, he had great friends and great teachers. The biggest challenge was transitioning out of Lena Pope into the school system. The personal connection the school provides for families is greatly appreciated and missed.

We’ve been at Lena Pope at Sanguinet for over 4 years. The staff is super caring and well trained in conscious discipline which teaches children to breathe, calm themselves and use their frontal lobe to problem solve. Children graduate from the center not only with high emotional intelligence but also well equipped academically. Jennifer Carpenter, the director has many years of experience and is great and compassionate. The only negative comment is that the center is so popular that the wait list is very long for the young gets (infants and early toddlers). The families that attend Lena Pope are very caring towards each other. It is a second family home.
