What Parents Say
5 reviews from parents
We had been *happy* a customer at this KA location for nearly 7 years, our son from 4-10 years, and our daughter 7 months to 5 years. Then this happened. Despite filling out the registration paperwork for their before/after school care class 2 months ago, we were just informed (2 weeks before school starts) that they don’t have room on their morning bus for our daughter (even with our son freeing up a spot in their bus by moving on to Middle School). We need before school care. So, we’re now forced to seek a new childcare location with only 2 weeks before school starts, and she looses all her friends, teachers she loves, etc. They provided no good explanations of why this happened, beyond “we have other families who have multiple kids on the bus” and “we prioritize people who are already in the program” — which are both BS because our son JUST freed up a spot AND she has been there for almost 5 years, so they’ve had plenty of notice we would be needing before/after school care. So, they pushed us out, essentially because we only have one child there now, in favor of other people who had more. I’ll add that they own and run a second bus in the afternoons that they don’t run in the mornings because “staff are expensive” except they are one of the most expensive child care options in the area. All of that said, it *IS* a good school, and this situation was handled in a really really bad way.
When I started searching for a daycare I read all the reviews I could find. Turns out the best one i could find was about 35 minutes from my house. TOTALLY WORTH THE DRIVE!!! This kiddie academy had the best reviews and I see why. I absolutely love this place! My kiddo has been going here just about a year, and loves the staff. They are so kind, caring and you can really see that they develop relationships with the kiddos! They truly go above and beyond and if you are thinking about this daycare for your child you should do it!!!
My son has been here since about 6mos and is now 20mos. He also is developmentally delayed and needs extra TLC. I've appreciated this school for their ongoing support of him and his needs. He's come such a long way and they've been supportive every step. They truly are his 2nd family and huge cheerleaders. Everyone knows all of the kids and are very welcoming. I'm happy we have been able to find a place, the first time, that loves on my child the way that they do. So far, they've accomodated and met all of his needs (even his use of his walker on occasion to work on his walking) and he is always happy to be there. In the name of transparency, the few things that I've experienced that I wasn't a fan of was my son not being able to transition with breast milk out of the infant room. If it is recommend up to at least 2yrs, I would think it should be allowed, but I don't make the rules. There was also a bit of a rough transition with getting a new teacher in his 2nd class, but I know that is not their fault as hiring is tough. We remained patient and so far I am enjoying his new teacher. They also have lots of activities for the kids (book fair, picture day, splash pad days, etc) which gives it a school feel. Overall, I plan to stick with them for the long haul and look forward to my next child being here.
I love that the owners, Jason and Nancy, show their love and dedication to the community by going above and beyond expectations. They are on site daily to help, observe and teach the staff and the children. The director, Christine, is great! She truly loves her job and works very hard to make sure the children and the families are happy and the center offers the best care and education there is. Jesse, the assistant director, is so loving and caring towards the children and families, she helps keep everything running smoothly! Holly, the curriculum coordinator, makes sure the classrooms have everything they need and helps the teachers, kids, parents and other staff any way she can! The teachers are great! They are kind, caring and loving. All in all, the center provides quality care and my family and I are very thankful for all that they do!
We love Kiddie Academy! We always feel a warm welcome when we walk in. All of the teachers know our children by name and have special bonds. We can tell they care about our family as much as we do and it makes having kids in daycare easier. They also do a lot of fun activities! Parents night out, special after-school or weekend events and celebrations. We love it and we love that the owners are there daily!
