Established in 1967, Hyde Park Montessori operates out of a beautifully preserved historic home in Central Austin. The school offers two distinct environments: the Cottage for toddlers (18 months to 3 years) and the Schoolhouse for preschoolers (3 to 6 years). The curriculum is built on core Montessori pillars—independence, order, concentration, coordination, and socialization—guiding children through self-directed work in mixed-age classrooms led by certified guides. The campus is a primary differentiator, featuring two large tree-shaded playgrounds and multiple gardens where children engage with nature daily. Families join a collaborative "village" community that follows the AISD calendar. While the school provides healthy snacks, families are responsible for providing daily lunches.
