About Abacus School of Austin
Abacus School of Austin Leander
Abacus School of Austin operates on a movement-based philosophy where children rotate through specialized learning environments rather than staying in a single classroom. The campus is designed for exploration, featuring a dedicated library, a computer lab, two separate indoor gyms tailored for different age groups, and an art studio with a degreed teacher. This dynamic approach prepares students for the structured transitions of elementary school while fostering natural curiosity. For families seeking more than standard care, the program includes Spanish immersion lessons and nutritious meals prepared by an in-house chef in a peanut-free facility. The center utilizes the Procare app to provide parents with real-time updates and photos throughout the day. Beyond the core curriculum, onsite enrichment programs like dance, soccer, and martial arts are available, allowing children to participate in extracurriculars during their regular school day.
What Parents Say
5 reviews from parents
I do not recommend this daycare at all, not even to my worst enemies. We enrolled at the time our 7-month old baby, at the beginning everything was okay, as time went and he got transferred to another class, they never communicated to us he was changing classes, another day we got there and he only had 1 shoe on and no one could find the other pair, took them 2 days to find the missing pair, another day we arrived and my son was screaming, they simply did not feed him his 3p.m bottle or gave him a snack. LAST and MOST IMPORTANT - my son suffered NEGLIGENCE from one of the teachers resulting in a trip to E.R and couple of stitches on his mouth. Had to fight with daycare to see video and still fighting for daycare to pay medical bills that are not our responsibilities due to negligence. Not to mention that during summer camp, my 6-year old drowned and I was not notified by anyone and would have never known if my son did not tell me. STAY AWAY FROM ABACUS.
Absolutely love this place for my 4 year old!! She has so much fun here and especially loves the field trips every other week! Ms. Barbara is an incredible teacher and my daughter just adores her. They also have other teachers and classrooms for art, Spanish, library, and creative movement, and have a strong focus on academics (reading, writing, math, etc) for all ages. Their hours allow for a lot of flexibility, and they have extra programs onsite (we are enrolled in dance and gymnastics currently), where they attend during their regular school day, so no extra driving required! They require a fingerprint for entry and there is always someone at the front. They even accommodate dietary preferences in all of their meals served. I could go on and on about the benefits and conveniences here; go take a tour if you're looking for somewhere for your baby/toddler/after school kiddo. I am so grateful we found this incredible school for our daughter!
We absolutely love Abacus! Our daughter has grown so much since she started here in August. She loves school and I love the activities and enrichment they offer. I'm slightly jealous of the food she is served daily. There are festivals and luncheons and plenty of ways to get involved with the school. The app with daily updates and pictures is a bonus.
I have a 6yr old and 3 yr old here. They both love it. SO much is provided with what you pay for. The value is awesome! GREAT staff. Jacque and Molly are the most approachable, open and understanding women to work with! Nothing is ever out of their league! Great choice of school. Highly recommend!
My son has been going here for over a year. The staff is excellent, great communication and a great sense of community amongst the other parents. I love that it’s clean and has a LOT of cool experiences to offer the kids.
