What Parents Say
5 reviews from parents
The UT Child Development Center is an outstanding daycare and preschool program. The teachers are experienced, caring, and truly invested in each child’s growth — many have been there for years, which speaks volumes about the quality and consistency of the center. My son is actually learning in a structured, nurturing environment, not just being kept busy. The administrative staff are always easy to reach and communicate regularly through their childcare app, where they post photos, videos, and daily updates. The facilities are extremely clean and well-organized, with a big emphasis on hygiene. I love that the sinks are at kid-level and that handwashing is one of the first things children are taught when they start. The play yards are large, safe, and thoughtfully designed for different age groups, and the food is fresh, healthy, and balanced — not the usual daycare fare. Compared to other centers we’ve used, UT CDC stands out for its professionalism, structure, and genuine care. My child is thriving here, and I couldn’t recommend it more highly!
I am convinced this may be the most wonderful daycare in Austin. We were on the waitlist for a while, but it was 100% worth it. My son, who had never been at daycare before, absolutely loves it and is so excited to go to school every day. The teachers are wonderful and engaged, the facilities are new and spotlessly clean, and it is fully evident every day that my son is learning new things. I am absolutely devastated that we have to leave this daycare because I'm graduating at the end of the school year. There's a reason this daycare is in high demand, and that's because UTCDC will become an extension of your family. Absolutely take advantage of this daycare if you are eligible for it - they even offer scholarships for those in financial need.
This is the beautiful new campus for the former center on San Jac, and I couldn't be happier with our whole experience, from leadership to individual child development to community building. I've sent three kids here and can sincerely say they've thrived. Communication is clear, and all the teachers know my kids' names and personalities. It's just always been ready and welcoming. I've never considered sending them anywhere else in town!
We love UTCDC-Leona and can wholeheartedly say it was worth the wait, there's a reason the waitlists are long! The staff are highly trained and there's low turnover, so it has been great seeing my younger kid have teachers that my older kid had or knew from the playground. The admin team is so communicative and supportive, and I love that they are open to feedback through parent surveys - there's not much to improve upon, but they're always asking! Also, we appreciate that it's a nut-free school because we have kids with peanut allergies. The admin and the teachers have so many indicators and protocols in place to keep our child safe at school.
We love UT CDC! The teachers and staff are so communicative with families—I always know what’s going on with my daughters and feel really included in their day. Every time I pick them up, they’re smiling and happy. I also really appreciate how intentional they are about matching teachers with kids based on their personalities and temperaments—it’s made such a positive difference for my girls. And having an on-site OT is such an amazing perk that we didn’t even know we’d value so much until we experienced it. We feel so lucky to be part of this community and couldn’t recommend UT CDC more highly!
