About Southlake Pre-School Enrichmnt

Southlake Pre-School Enrichment Center

Operating since 1983, Southlake PSE provides a structured preparatory environment for children aged 18 months to Pre-K. The program is distinguished by its 'rotation concept,' where children move between specialized classrooms every 20 to 30 minutes to maintain engagement and focus across various subjects. The school integrates a faith-based curriculum with a focus on holistic development, including 'PSE Live' performances designed to build confidence in public speaking. Facilities include large indoor play areas and an outdoor playground designed for active learning. Students follow a uniform policy Monday through Thursday to promote a focused environment, and tuition includes nutritious lunches and daily snacks. As a long-standing family-owned institution, the school focuses on building a strong educational and spiritual foundation for early learners.

This school is so great! My daughters have thrived for sure. I know the owners and they do have to make the hard decisions to dismiss children from time to time for behavior issues. This of course is upsetting to parents (other review) - but I appreciate the fact that when difficulties arise they try to work with the families and coach them to save the relationships and keep the child enrolled. If they do dismiss a family it usually is best for the other kids in the class. The teachers and staff are beyond amazing! AND it's true, they have the BEST events! Since graduating PSE my oldest has gone on to ace school and STAAR tests! Wonderful foundation for sure! GO check it out!

We had a very disappointing experience at PSE Southlake. I’m going to try to keep this review as fair as possible. I’ll focus on the general here. First, the good. The teachers seemed sweet and caring for the most part. They have a great, large outdoor space for play. The classrooms are fun and decorated nicely. They have very lovely celebrations for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. The bad. Your kid will watch TV during the day. A lot of it. I asked when touring about the TVs in every classroom, but the person showing me around said they just used them for music. Not true. My kid came home discussing the plots of movies we had never showed him. The TVs were on at pick up more often than not. Also, there is only one teacher per classroom. The student to teacher ratio was low, about 8-10 kids for every teacher, which is lower than required by the state. So the classroom doesn’t have a lot of kids, but with just one teacher, if her attention is on one kid, there is no assistant to watch the other 9 kids. I liked the low ratio at first, but now I understand why other preschools use a model with at least one (if not two) assistant teachers. The management is pretty “old school” as far as discipline goes. If your child is energetic, creative, independent, etc., they may struggle here. A friend referred me to PSE. Their kids loved it, and I know they often have a wait list. I had seen a few negative reviews online, but I ignored them. I shouldn’t have. If you spank your kids, that’s your choice. But a preschool should not suggest to parents that they spank their kids. It’s not their business. Some of the things my son has told me since leaving are concerning. I have since met other families that had a similar experience to ours. Again, if you want more information, I am happy to discuss in private message. I just urge you to trust your gut. I didn’t and I truly regret it.

Wonderful, happy environment for children to learn and grow. The staff and teachers are kind and experienced and the owners are in business for the purpose of caring for and educating children! Furthermore, the faith based program has been fabulous for my daughter! HIGHLY RECOMMEND based on our great experience!
