About Bright Minds Academy
Bright Minds Academy At Medi Park
Founded in 2014 by Joanna Tejeda Lowe, a former bilingual educator, Bright Minds Academy was born from a desire for a more rigorous Pre-K alternative. The program follows the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) curriculum, focusing on preparing children for Kindergarten through a structured, academic lens. Unlike traditional play-only centers, this academy integrates phonetic knowledge, mathematical foundations, and Spanish language immersion into daily thematic lessons. The facility emphasizes a "least restrictive environment" where infants and toddlers have freedom of movement without swings or bouncers. Security is a priority, featuring a self-locking main entrance with key-access control. Parents stay connected via the Brightwheel app, receiving regular developmental progress reports and monthly curriculum calendars. The environment is designed to be organized and purposeful, mirroring a classroom setting rather than a home-based daycare.
What Parents Say
5 reviews from parents
Wonderful staff and curriculum! Tons of creative and fun hands-on learning. Ms. Jade is one of the best Pre-K teachers we’ve encountered. She’s warm, caring and very skilled at keeping all of the kids engaged in learning activities and loving class. BMA has been great at communicating with parents as well - we get frequent photos throughout the week of our child’s activities. I cannot recommend this facility enough. I’m very confident that our son is now well prepared for Kindergarten.
I cannot say enough things about Bright Minds. My girls were in a in home daycare before and the transition to Bright Minds put my heart at ease almost immediately. They have pushed my girls socially and academically. I love how interactive and hands on they are in their classes. They both got to do so many fun and and unique things each day, all while learning. My girls have flourished being part of Bright Minds, and I have also told them if only they could start an Elementary school, because we are truly going to miss it here and the wonderful teachers!! Thank you for everything!
Bright Minds was a great experience for our child! She learned so much! I loved all the hands on activities they got to do. The curriculum that Bright Minds uses really accelerates the students learning! My child left 100% ready for kindergarten! They build an awesome culture within the center! The teachers do an amazing job of communicating progress, daily activities, concerns and upcoming events! They plan fun events for the parents to be involved in their child’s learning as well. It’s easy to communicate with any questions and concerns. I always felt safe dropping my child off there. They do a great job of securing the building, monitoring visitors, and going through drills to ensure safety for all students. I would highly recommend Bright Minds to anyone looking for a daycare or PreK center.
My daughter attended Bright Minds and we absolutely LOVE the staff and the curriculum! My daughter went into her kindergarten year ABOVE the expectations for an incoming kindergartner. Bright Minds Academy and its staff has set my daughter up for success in her educational career! My family and I highly recommend BMA to EVERYONE! There’s not another child care facility that will love your babies all while helping them grow and feel confident!
My daughter has attended bright minds academy since she was 2yrs old and is now about to graduate! She has excelled in so much and is beyond ready for kindergarten!! Best childcare/preschool hands down that she has ever attended! Bright minds goes above and beyond for their students and parents! I absolutely love them!
