We are SOOOO happy we decided to enroll our son Hayden at Ivy! He attended for 4 years and is now happy and successful at our neighborhood elementary school in addition to being fluent in Spanish! Esmeralda warned us that he would be ahead academically wherever he went next and she was 100% correct! On top of the academics and the social skills he learned while at Ivy, what we appreciated the most was the love and warmth shown by every teacher he ever interacted with. While Hayden was a student at Ivy, my wife/Hayden's mom was hospitalized for an extended period with a potentially fatal illness. Upon learning of this the teachers there increased the amount of love and number of hugs they gave him and simply went above and beyond anything we would ever have expected to make certain he was okay. We will never forget what they did for us and our son!
Our daughter Charlotte attends this daycare school and has been having a great time. She actually naps better here than at home. I love the fact that it is a bilingual spanish immersion and love the way they run the operation. I highly recommend this daycare and school!
Fantastic school, staff, and curriculum!
This review is long overdue! The Ivy International School is the only place I feel 100% comfortable leaving my children for care. Class sizes are small and every teacher there knows my children, even if they were not their specific teacher, which makes me feel like we are a part of a family. Facility is always clean, bright and comfortable. The staff are always smiling and genuinely happy to see the kids. They are open and willing to accommodate to my children's dietary needs and allow cloth diapering. My daughter attended for 4 years and loved every minute. She wanted to get there early and stay late every day. She is currently 9 years old and going into 4th grade. She is a TAG student and does well in all her classes. My son is 4 and is a current student. He loves his teachers and comes home everyday with proud stories of what he learned and the fun time he had with his teachers and friends. He comes home saying new Spanish words every week and seems to be understanding more and more since he first started 2 years ago. All of the achievements and happiness that my children have experienced while at the Ivy International School is because of the knowledgable and warm hearts of the staff which pours down from the top. Esmeralda, the director, always has a smile on her face to greet the children when they arrive. She clearly communicates upcoming deadlines and events. And is in the classrooms daily to help out wherever needed whether that means to clean a spill, assist a teacher or wipe a butt. When times were hard for us as a family, she was understanding, flexible and a great support for both myself and my daughter. I recently moved to Round Rock and the drive takes me 30-45 mins on some days but I wouldn't have it any other way because I know it is what is best for my child.
We tried two others pre-schools in the area that were absolutely horrible before we found Ivy. Luckily, my husband found Ivy and we've been there ever since. My daughter attended Ivy since the age of 3 and is now a flourishing 2nd grader in the advanced program at her public school. My son currently attends Ivy and we absolutely love it! This school is every parents' dream come true. The turnover is nearly nonexistent when it comes to the teachers, which was why we chose this school. The teachers that taught my daughter are still there today. If you're looking for a wonderful, structured, loving learning environment for your child, this is it. Just to give you an idea of how wonderful the teachers are: my daughter (blonde girlie princess) would come home from school with hearts braided into her hair with varying braided styles every day! It was so sweet! When I would go to pick my daughter up she would tell me that she didn't want to leave lol. Esmeralda (the director) is so understanding and kind and is an excellent communicator. You know your kids are always safe with her at the helm. Ms. Cecy and Ms. Lizzy were fabulous and so sweet! Mrs. Maria is a teaching genius and keeps the kiddos on task (it's truly miraculous) with super fun activities, songs, and lessons every day. She taught my daughter how to write and how to color inside of the lines, which were challenging issues at the time. My daughter absolutely LOVED her!!! Ms. Blanca is also so genuinely kind and caring. She's a great teacher and challenges her students in all of the right ways. Ms. Berma and Mrs. Luisa have always been so positive and sweet! This school doesn't have the boring normal curriculum that you would find at other preschools. They have so many different activities, hands-on educational toys (great for fine motor skills), and a variable schedule throughout the school day so the kids don't get bored. Both of my kids have loved this school and so have we! This is honestly the best school you'll find in the area. Also, the playground is shaded (no need for daily sunscreen), which was a HUGE bonus for us!
