The YMCA has been such a great part of my routine and overall well-being. The environment is welcoming, clean, and genuinely inclusive, it never feels intimidating or judgmental, which makes it a really comfortable place to show up and work on yourself at any stage of your fitness or wellness journey. The staff are kind, knowledgeable, and always willing to help. Whether it’s answering questions, helping you find a class, or just greeting you with a smile, they make the place feel like a community rather than just a gym. I also love the variety of equipment, classes, and programs they offer, there’s truly something for everyone. From fitness and wellness to family and community support, the YMCA does an amazing job of serving the whole person, not just physical health. Overall, the YMCA is a positive, supportive space that makes it easier to stay consistent, motivated, and connected. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a gym that actually feels like a community.
WOW!!! I always thought the Y was something else, but once I sign up, I strongly believe every citizen should get a membership here. 1. The hospitality is freaking awesome- staff remembers everyone name- your not just a number. 🏋️🏋️♀️🏋️♂️💪🏃🏃♀️🏃♂️ 2. It’s has more than a gym!!!!! I love the innovation that this organization has, with music classes and technology, like podcast studios, actual recording studios! 🎸🥁🎧🎤🎵🎼🎹 3. What I loved about this Y, is that it’s in the heart of downtown and the building has so much character! Yes high tech equipments and modern looks can be good but there’s something about this Y that feels great & cool, beside the cool pool🏊🏊♀️🏊♂️ From a full basketball court to saunas, this place actually has pretty much everything that a family or single person would need. I’ll be honest it can be a little pricey membership but hey we can all skip a meal🤪. I heard they help the community with those who can’t get the membership, not sure how it works but this organization gives so much the community. PS: It’s actually has an indoor track upstarts 🤩🤩🤩 Perhaps it’s the people 😉
Great Space for Fitness, Family & Wellbeing I really love the Downtown YMCA. The space always feels calm and safe, which makes it easy for me to enjoy my workouts. I mainly use the treadmills, but I also really appreciate the indoor pool and Jacuzzi—they’re so therapeutic after a long day. The sauna is another favorite, and I like that there’s one in both the women’s and men’s locker rooms. The childcare has been such a huge benefit for me, and I feel reassured knowing there are cameras, which gives me peace of mind while I exercise. Overall, it’s a great place that supports both fitness, wellbeing & relaxation for the whole family.
There is a wide array of activities and programs available. I participate as time and schedule allow. My favorites are the swimming pool and cycling classes. Not only are these great exercises but also affords the opportunity to network among the other members. As relationships develop, we hold each other accountable. Paul, the executive director, is genuine in his interaction with the members. He is also a great encourager and accountability sounding board. Doesn’t seem as if anything ever gets under his skin. Definitely a great leader. The trainers are another asset at the downtown Y. Both Megan and Kevin are always upbeat and personable. They aren’t always about the money either. If they see something worth mentioning, they are quick to offer pointers. Carl, the morning staff member and overall YMCA staff guru, is a very bright spot at the club. Quick with a smile and a hearty greeting, he is sure to make anyone feel welcomed and valued. Can’t say enough about the Amon G. Carter. Of course there may be an occasional bump in the road, but whatever it is has been resolved without anyone feeling lesser than. Keep up the great work!."
This is by far the best YMCA location I’ve ever visited. It offers a wide range of activities for all age groups, and the facility is exceptionally clean. I love the indoor pool—it’s a fantastic feature. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. I only wish other locations followed this example to provide a better experience for their members.
