About Canyon Creek Daycare

Canyon Creek Daycare Christian Learning Center

Canyon Creek Daycare in Richardson provides a structured, faith-based environment for children from six weeks through Pre-K. The program emphasizes a head start in education, aiming to have four-year-olds reading before they graduate to Kindergarten. Utilizing both Abeka and Learning Without Tears curricula, classrooms engage students in phonics, math, Spanish, and character development based on the Fruits of the Spirit. The facility leverages the Brightwheel app to maintain real-time communication with parents, sharing photos, videos, and daily logs for meals and napping. Infant care is cloth-diaper friendly and supports nursing mothers, while older children benefit from twice-daily outdoor play on a fenced playground. From the Gentle Grapes infant room to the Pre-K 4 graduates, each stage of development is nurtured within a close-knit, community-focused environment led by Director Emily Jones.

I toured your facility for my 14-month-old son. During the tour, the teacher remarked that my son is "behind" because he isn't walking yet. His pediatrician assures me he is developing perfectly normally. This experience made it clear that this is not the right environment for my son. Edit: I toured on first week of December 2024 (can't remember exact date)

We absolutely love Canyon Creek Daycare!! Truly the best teachers, staff, and owners. We have had kids enrolled since 2019 and have been so pleased with the care they have received. The staff are friendly, responsive, and nurturing. It is very clear how much they love our kids and our family, and they have shown that in numerous ways. Just can't say enough nice things about this facility....

We have had such a great experience with our son attending Canyon Creek Daycare. We were able to get him into their infant class as a tiny 10 week old and have seen him fly through each developmental milestone ahead of the average. They work with him and us to foster growth and learning and let us know when he is advanced to a new stage. He is so happy and trusting of each lady in his room and we get great feedback throughout the day on his status. While there has been turnover in each room among the teachers each new person has been amazing and kind. We look forward to many more years.

We have had a great experience at Canyon Creek Daycare for the last 3 years. Their staff is always friendly, communicative and quick to address concerns. They have an app where we can track our child's daily activities and use as another form of communicating with both the staff and teachers. They prioritize maintaining a safe environment for children to learn about God and all the essential skills they will need when they enter elementary school. Their rates are competitive and reasonable. I would definitely recommend CCD for anyone looking for child care.

Canyon Creek is the BEST daycare! We’ve had our son at Canyon Creek since he was 4 months old. As heartbreaking as it is to leave your baby for the first time, there’s no other place I could recommend more. The teachers and staff love those babies/children as if they were their own. Everyday now (my son is 18 months) I know I’m leaving my son with the most loving people! Not to mention the curriculum! As a teacher myself, it’s truly amazing to see what they do everyday!

Aggregated insights from public records & parent discussions

Safety Record

Parent discussions on Reddit (November 2024) include allegations of children being changed on bathroom floors, a 'room' for overly active children, and a claim that a parent was threatened with police when requesting camera footage. A 2019 employee review referenced on parent forums allegedly claimed staff were instructed to lock crying children in a bathroom. No official news reports of major incidents or closures were found in the current search.

Parent Reputation

Reputation is highly polarized, with testimonials on the facility's website and some parents on Reddit praising the center for its small, 'hands-on' environment and phenomenal teachers. Conversely, other parents report unprofessional interactions with management and a 'weird' atmosphere, with some claiming to have received cease and desist orders after posting negative reviews. Sentiment ranges from 'loving it so much' to 'terrible experience.'

Staff Insights

Employee feedback is limited; one parent reported zero staff turnover and thriving children, while others observed teachers appearing nervous in front of the director. Recent job listings for infant and lead teachers offer pay between $15 and $17 per hour with benefits like 401(k), health insurance, and tuition reimbursement. An alleged 2019 review by a former employee contains a serious claim regarding the treatment of crying children.
