About Bilingual Early Learning Academy

Spanish Immersion with Huge Backyard

Bilingual Early Learning Academy (BELA) provides a nurturing yet challenging environment designed to promote bilingualism through natural immersion. Their curriculum for toddlers and preschoolers utilizes Sheltered Instruction and the Total Physical Response (TPR) method, allowing children to acquire Spanish through movement, visuals, and play. The program is unique for including Mandarin exposure and soccer skills as part of the developmental experience, alongside a strong foundation in literacy and math. The academy operates in a cozy, home-like building with a large, beautiful backyard that serves as an outdoor classroom for nature exploration. Director Julieta Montes, who holds a Master’s in Educational Leadership, leads a team of passionate educators from diverse backgrounds, including Mexico, Puerto Rico, and China. This small-community setting emphasizes a family feel, ensuring personalized attention for every little learner.

After a few years at BELA, our son's experience was nothing short of wonderful. We're incredibly happy with the love and care he received, and we saw him truly flourish in such a supportive and nurturing environment. With small class sizes and fantastic teachers, the personalized attention made a huge difference. Plus, the Spanish immersion program is truly top-notch. We wholeheartedly recommend this school.

We feel incredibly lucky to have found this amazing daycare for our three daughters. It is truly a special place, filled with warmth, joy, and genuine care. The teachers are the heart and soul of the center; it's clear they love what they do, and the low turnover is a testament to the positive environment they've created. Our girls rave about their teachers at home, and it's no surprise—educators like Mrs. Rosy, Mrs. Julieta, Mrs Leidis, Mrs Tere and Mrs Elsa (the list goes on!) have a natural gift with children. Their kindness and passion for teaching are evident in everything they do. The Spanish immersion program is fantastic. Our daughters' Spanish skills have improved tremendously in such a short time, and they are always excited to practice what they've learned. We love that the curriculum is so well-rounded. The children spend plenty of time playing and exploring outdoors, but also engage in a wonderful variety of arts, crafts, and educational activities inside. Sending our children here has been one of the best decisions we've made. It brings us so much peace of mind to know they are not only in a safe and nurturing environment but one where they are also happy, learning, and truly thriving. We cannot recommend this daycare highly enough!

As our time at BELA is coming to a close, I am so thankful for the experience we've had here and the family feel. She learned so much and here and we know she was always actively learning. We know we made the best choice for her!

My daughter and son love BELA! The teachers are kind and caring, and the small community feels like dropping them off to a family member each day. They have a beautiful large yard to play in, and I have been so impressed with the crafts, songs, and rigor of the curriculum! When choosing a daycare/prek, it was very important for our family to give our kids the gift of the Spanish language. The ages of 0-5 are absolutely crucial to language learning (and all learning!) while the brain is still plastic. I am thrilled with the level of my kids’ Spanish speaking, understanding, and pronunciation. Incredibly, BELA’s tuition is also competitive for the Austin area. We cannot thank you and recommend you enough, BELA!

My son started at BELA when he was just over a year old (he is 3yo now). He adapted really quickly. The staff is really friendly and loving with the kids. As he grew I noticed how much he was learning. He would come back home counting, singing the letters, and talking about different topics that had been covered at school. He would also sing IN CHINESE! I got the staff support to help potty training. My daughter (2 yo) is also attending there, and as she is becoming more verbal I am also noticing how much she is learning. I feel really happy to know my kids are well cared for, and to come and get them and hear about all the things they did and learned.
