My son attended school here for about 2-3 years. I will say, when we toured, we loved it. They really do sell you on all of thing that the kids can get into. However, the front desk always seemed bothered if we had questions or concerns. We noticed that the teachers would yell a lot at the students in the classrooms. My son was in a class his second year and we had to make a complaint the his teacher never seems like she’s in a good mood or is frustrated or yelling. His first teacher was absolutely amazing and you could tell she actually enjoyed her job. If you can, do your research, read reviews. The bad ones are one the google search for a reason.

This is a very mediocre daycare. It might be great for you based on what your priorities are and for some it might be below standard. Pros: They offer a lot of different activities and events Flexible hours and they don’t follow school schedule Teachers are friendly and curriculum is great Meals are provided Cons: Don’t really care about having children sick unless they are super sick and have fever. Management and front desk is not friendly. They always seem like they were bothered to talk to me. I ended up unenrolling my daughter because of kids at the daycare center are always sick and my daughter would always start getting sick immediately after 3 days of attending again. She was sick every two weeks and didn’t get a break. I thought it was her immune system but since she’s been attending a different daycare for several weeks she has yet to get sick. She was not happy going in and was happy to leave at the end. In the new daycare she will happily run it and doesn’t want to leave. I was so surprised that things elsewhere could be so good and how happier she is now. I really recommend doing your research. We also didn’t like that the price was raised without any notification. I was told there were notes everywhere around and in their cubbies. My daughter was out for 2 weeks during this time because of hospitalization from a virus she caught there and nothing was left in her cubby. They didn’t bother to announce this via an email, the parent portal or directly. Very unprofessional.

We’ve been with Country Home since my son was just 1, and it’s been such a great experience. The staff is so kind and really cares about the kids. Now that he’s older, he loves the after-school and summer programs — especially the splash pad! My son never wants to miss because of all the amazing field trips they take. He comes home every day happy and worn out! I’m so thankful for everything they’ve done for him and for creating such a fun, safe place for kids to grow. Highly recommend!

We Love CHLC. We have two children that attend and I couldn’t ask for a better place for my children to be while my husband and I work. The staff at Country Home are all so inviting and truly treat you like family. As soon as you walk in the door they don’t just greet you but, embrace you as if they have known you for years. The teachers are AMAZING and go above and beyond for the kids. They really do a great job preparing these youngsters for what it’s going to be like when they start attending school. This place is like a second home to my kids. 10 out of 10. Thank you for all you do Country Home Learning Center

My son has attended Country Home Learning Center in Southwest Austin for 4 wonderful years, and my daughter for almost 1 year. The staff at Country Home provide an engaging, loving and fun environment for children every single day. The facilities are incredible with multiple different age appropriate playgrounds, an indoor playground for inclement weather, a water park for older children in the summer, a soda shop for cooking, theater arts room, STEM lab and the halls are lined with adorable artwork and photos of the children. They offer fairly priced tuition, flexible hours, lunch is included in tuition and we look forward to utilizing their after school bus program and summer camps when our son goes to kindergarten. Most importantly, the staff and teachers genuinely care about each child, Every teacher knows student of all ages by name, they teach the children how to manage big feelings and truly love the kids. The management has also worked with us when we’ve had concerns. Developmentally, I feel that my children are learning so much and will be more than prepared for elementary school. My son regularly tells me how much he loves his school and he’s excited to go every morning. We love Country Home and will be sad when we have to leave someday!

Safety Record

As of January 2026, the facility has recorded 21 total deficiencies over the past 60 months according to Texas Health and Human Services (HHSC) records, with 6 non-compliances identified during a January 6, 2026 inspection. While official records show no corrective or adverse actions, recent consumer reviews on the Better Business Bureau site report concerns regarding child biting incidents and a physical confrontation involving an unauthorized child. The center maintains an emergency preparedness plan and requires annual staff training in child abuse prevention.

Reputation is divided between highly positive internal testimonials and critical external reviews. Parents on the center's website praise the communicative staff and 'home-away-from-home' atmosphere, while reviews on the BBB and Reddit cite concerns about teacher turnover and safety. Common themes include appreciation for the extensive facilities and individualized infant care contrasted with reports of unprofessional staff conduct and pricing described as higher than average.

Staff Insights

State records indicate moderate staff turnover, with 4 employees leaving in 2025 and 5 in 2024. Employee reviews are limited, but one former staff member on the Better Business Bureau platform reported a negative work environment, while forum discussions on Reddit mentioned high teacher turnover as a concern for parents. The center offers benefits including paid training, CPR/First Aid certification, and reduced childcare tuition for its employees.
