Uphaus Early Childhood Center is a purpose-built Austin ISD campus designed specifically for the needs of young learners. The 7.5-acre site features a U-shaped building filled with natural light, colorful hallways, and child-height windows. A standout architectural feature is the library’s giant tree entrance, which serves as a gateway to imagination for students. The facility is built with sustainability in mind, utilizing local materials and smart design to maintain a comfortable, welcoming environment. The program follows a dual-language curriculum (English/Spanish) rooted in Social Emotional Learning and the Conscious Discipline philosophy. Students engage in hands-on learning within specialized Blocks and Science Labs, alongside extensive outdoor play in courtyards featuring two playscapes and a tricycle track. As a center primarily serving district families, it maintains a strong community atmosphere with active parent workshops and frequent updates through Class Dojo.
