Hope the Gary dude is gone. He made me so uncomfortable. Didn’t enjoy this place.
If you are wealthy and white like the members, they are superficially nice. If you are struggling they won't help you. I opened up about my struggles and the pastor marginalized me saying, I was being punished like a child by God, but, you would not understand that since you never had children. And because, Jesus suffered and died for me, my pain and suffering is justified. That's not a loving God and a compassionate pastor. Also, I was told they are not set up to help financially and this place is huge like a box store.
I attended this church off and on for around 9 months. I thought that they had a robust offering for people of all ages seeking to worship Christ. Although I am personally not a fan of the more contemporary offerings of their later service it was at a time when I could attend. The pastor was excellent and proved a great series of sermons based around Kings and Revelations.
This is not merely a church, but Austin Baptist is a loving, welcoming community. I appreciate the pastors and deacons, actually everyone. They deeply care for others. Come to a service and feel His love.
Amazing place for children. Im not even from here, or have a child and im floored. This is where I’d bring them to preschool if i had any
