About Russian Cultural Center

Russian Cultural Center and Language School

The Russian School of Austin has served the local community for over 20 years, operating as a non-profit dedicated to cultural preservation and linguistic excellence. The program offers a licensed weekday daycare alongside a robust Sunday school program featuring nearly 100 different classes. The curriculum is deeply rooted in academic rigor and artistic expression, providing specialized instruction in mathematics, chess, ceramics, classical ballet, and theater. Led by Director Dmitriy Ovcharenko, the school emphasizes early speech development and cultural heritage. The facility includes a main administrative site and a Sunday school campus, featuring an outdoor yard with shade trees for play. The teaching staff is comprised of professionals, many of whom hold advanced degrees in pedagogy or medicine. With a low teacher-to-child ratio in the daycare program, the center provides a warm, community-focused environment where families participate in annual traditions like the New Year...

Excellent school for children, variety of educational and fun classes, flexible schedule, affordable. Children don't need to be fluent in Russian, just come and learn and have fun! Teachers LOVE what they do and it shows. Kids are learning a lot and keep asking to go there again and again. There are few classes for Russian and non Russian speaking adults. Building is nice and clean. Thank you for all you do!

We are very excited to be students of Mr. Sergey Yudin. We are attending Chess and Graphics. Both are great - kids get knowledge and enjoy a very special atmosphere in class. We also had an amazing class with this teacher - Paper Architecture! Super super engaging class. Unfortunately we had to drop it because of the youngest kid’s schedule.

Russian School of Austin is a great place for kids as well as adults. They offer a variety of classes, mostly in Russian language, language, math, arts, dancing chess, gymnastics, soccer and more. However, there are classess that are being offered in Armenian as well. I am very happy with my kids improvement in Russian lnguage and math skills-it’s a great addition to the extracurricular activities. The school helps me keep my kids motivated to continue to speak, read and write in Russian. The environment and staff are friendly, teachers seem knowledgeable in the subjects they teach, are kind and very attentive to students. I highly recommend this school!

My kids were attending Russian School of Austin between 2013 and 2020. They especially enjoyed math class with Maia Kritz, Russian language classes with Tatiana Nikolaevskaya, various drawing and science classes (with a number of teachers). Drama/Theatre classes both by Irina Yakushenok and Oksana Fedosova are pure magic! Kids love the classes and parents will be pleasantly surprised by the quality of performances. I highly recommend the school. Great teachers and admin staff!
