About Sapienza Montessori
Sapienza Montessori Spanish Immersion School
Sapienza Montessori combines authentic Montessori pedagogy with a full Spanish immersion curriculum. Founded by Cinndy Cruz Gonzalez and Otanis Ramos Vega, the program focuses on cultivating independence and a lifelong love of learning. The environment is designed as a "Children’s House," where materials are placed at the child's height to encourage autonomy and natural movement. Parents describe the school as an extension of their own families, frequently praising the warm, dedicated guides who treat students with immense respect. The program serves two main age groups: the Young Children’s Community (18 months to 3 years) and the Children’s House (3 to 6 years), with a Nido classroom recently added for toddlers as young as 12 months. Students engage in practical life activities, such as preparing snacks and tidying, while becoming communicative in both English and Spanish.
What Parents Say
5 reviews from parents
Sapienza is such an incredible school. The founders, Cinndy and Otanis, have created such a beautiful culture amongst their staff and children. Over the past 3 years that our oldest daughter has been a part of Sapienza, we've watched immense thought be put into the development of not only our child but every child there. Each child is honored as a unique individual and encouraged in such specific ways to grow, believe they are capable, become familiar with building blocks to learning, and to be the masters of their own learning journey. It's sincerely an inspiration to watch this happen in your own child. Our youngest joined the Nido classroom when he was 12 months old; the love and care he experienced by the teacher, Jessi, was unmatched to any other caretaker who has watched our children at this age. We feel truly indebted to Sapienza for showing us just how beautiful early education can be. Our children have eagerly looked forward to their days with Laura, Bea, Tere, Celeste, Jessi, Cinndy, and Otanis. As we look for similar schools in Seattle, we're coming to terms with the fact that nowhere there will give our children what they had here in Austin in Sapienza.
What would we do without Sapienza? Our eldest started in the toddler class at just 18 months old, and we’ve watched her grow into an independent, confident, and curious little human. She learned to put on her own shoes, tidy up after herself, and even help prepare snacks—all before turning 3. The Montessori foundation they’ve given her is something we talk about often, even outside of school. Last year, our youngest started in Sapienza’s new Nido classroom (for ages 12–18 months), and it has been amazing. The Nido staff is incredibly nurturing and attentive—they treat the babies with so much respect and care. Our son was excited to go every morning and has become noticeably more communicative in both languages. What sets Sapienza apart is the calm, purposeful environment and the way the guides truly see each child as capable and full of potential. Drop-offs are peaceful, transitions are smooth, and communication with staff is consistent and thoughtful. As working parents, we’re especially grateful for how safe, seen, and engaged both our kids are every single day. If you’re looking for a Montessori program that feels both deeply caring and developmentally rich—especially for little ones just starting daycare—Sapienza is a wonderful place to grow.
My 3.5 year old son has been attending since he was 18 months old. We have absolutely loved our experience with the directors as well as all of the Montessori guides and assistants . They put such great thought and energy into their curriculum and are a true Montessori school. Spanish immersion was important to me so it has been a perfect fit. ♥️
I love Sapienza! My 3.5-year-old has been taught there for 2 years. And we plan to enroll our other child this fall. We sought a Spanish immersion Montessori school for bilingual benefits and Montessori independence. At Sapienza, we found loving teachers who are like family, providing a safe and warm environment for our son. The parent community is friendly and involved, with a great PTA!
I absolutely love Sapienza! I am actually embarrassed I haven’t written a review until now—I definitely thought I had. My 3 kids have been taught by the same teachers currently at Sapienza even before they created this school of their own. My oldest is now 9 so I’ve known these lovely people for about 7 years. We were looking for a Spanish immersion Montessori school as we wanted our children to get the benefits of being bilingual as well as the autonomy and independence they get from the Montessori style. But we get sooo much more with the loving teachers at Sapienza. I often tell other people when talking about the school that it’s like an extension of our family. The teachers are my kids’ bonus abuelas and tías. We have been so lucky to find a place where we know our kids are completely safe and can truly thrive. Then the cherry on top is the parent community. Everyone is friendly and involved. We have a PTA that plans events and playdates, among other things, to help us get to know each other outside of the quick chats at drop off.
