What Parents Say

I love it here, I do gymnastics and I have learned a lot! I love the coaches and if you like gymnastics and you need a good place to learn. This is it.
REALLY great facility and staff. Everyone was so friendly. They took me on a tour, explained the equipment and services and set me up with a workout plan. This facility is HUGE! Everything is clean and looks new. The members were friendly as well. I'm really impressed.
As a mom of five young kids, finding a safe and fun place for us all to cool off and make memories together is really important to me. So we were excited to spend time at the YMCA pool — but unfortunately, the experience left me feeling more stressed than refreshed. Even though all my kids had life jackets on, I was told I had to be in the water with them — and if I wasn’t, they weren’t allowed in the pool or even the splash pad. I understand safety is a top priority, and I deeply appreciate that. But the rules felt so strict and rigid that they completely erased any chance of a relaxing or joyful outing for our family. It’s not easy wrangling five kids, and I came hoping for support, not shame or restrictions that make it nearly impossible for larger families to enjoy the space. A little more flexibility and understanding would go such a long way for parents like me just trying to give our kids a happy summer day. Please consider how these rules impact real families. We want to be part of the community. We want to feel welcome. And we really just want to make memories — not leave with tears and frustration. Sincerely, A tired but hopeful mama 💛
An absolutely horrible experience all around. We will not be back. Paid $32 ($8 each) for 4 people, one of whom is a 9 month old. Our 8 year old can swim very well and swam the entire length of the pool for their swim test. But apparently, even though she was above water the whole time, she wasn't swimming "properly" and thus failed the test, which you are allowed to take only once a visit. So, because she, an 8 year old whose been swimming since she was 3, did not have an Olympic level Australian crawl, she was made to wear a life jacket, couldn't be separated from an adult by more than 3 ft, and couldn't go on any of the cool slides, those slides being the entire reason for our visit. I have to agree with one of the other reviewers here, that their "swim test" just feels like an underhanded way to get people to pay for lessons. Then, after swimming for maybe an hour, lightning struck. We had to leave the pool of course. We thought this was not an issue, as there is also an indoor pool. It was not so, since for some reason their water pumps were moved from the inside to outside, making them susceptible to lightning, we were informed. I'm pretty sure that defeats the whole purpose of having an indoor pool if it can not be used during bad weather. As we left, we could see more people going in, whom the staff was still allowing to pay for pool entry, despite the closure due to weather. People were paying their $8 only to immediately have to leave. What a scam.
Very nice variety of treadmills, rowers, stairs, elliptical machines, etc. Free weights and stack weight machines are plentiful but are a bit cramped. Staff is helpful. Locker rooms are recently remodeled. Really cool indoor pool and soon will have a new outdoor pool.
