About Austin Achieve Elementary & Middle School-Pflugerville
YMCA After School at Austin Achieve
Located on the Austin Achieve Public Schools campus, this YMCA-operated program provides structured after-school care for scholars from Pre-K through elementary age. The program integrates a social-emotional learning (SEL) approach, featuring dedicated spaces for emotional regulation and a restorative justice framework for discipline. Scholars engage in traditional academics alongside project-based learning and extracurriculars like coding and archery. Safety is managed through the Standard Response Protocol (SRP), ensuring that staff and students are regularly trained for various emergency scenarios. While the academic environment is rigorous, the YMCA-led after-school component provides a community-focused space where students are encouraged to become self-advocates and community leaders. The program provides a bridge between the school day and home with a focus on holistic student development in a licensed, on-campus setting.
What Parents Say

My child loves going to school here. We attended both campuses over the past 4 years. This is the second year at this campus and it has been great thus far. I can see how much the current principal cares and her level of engagement is very high. The staff under new Principal's Ms. Jasso & Ms. Sosa are communicative and prompt ( this is one of the challenges I had with the school prior to this school year). They are also open to suggestions and genuinely want the kids to learn in a safe and fun environment. Also, the addition of extracurricular's such as cheer, archery and coding are a BIG PLUS! This is exposing my child to different opportunities that some other schools do not have.
My name is Maria Elena Munoz Beltran. I can say that the school is quite good. Very good teachers and quite clean. I am a mother who has her children here, but it is also a great job for me. I can assure you that your children are in the best hands. Thank you, Austin Achieve, for everything.
Great school. This is the 2nd year for my kid. We see a lot of development. The homework’s are essentially helpful for the kids to remember what was taught at school. Teachers are very responsive. My kid is also having fun!
Staff responsible for managing the children during dismissal are not handling 3-4 years old kids with the level of care and attention expected. This raises serious safety concerns. Additionally, staff making young children sit outside in the scorching heat temperatures reaching nearly 100 degree while waiting for parents. This is not only uncomfortable but potentially dangerous, given the risk of heat exhaustion or dehydration for such young children. I have noticed a minor injury on my child’s body, which was neither reported to me nor explained by the staff. This lack of communication and oversight is deeply troubling. If you are coming from North Pflugerville then picking up kids is. extremely painful and time-consuming. its take at least 45 mins just to pick up kids after school, and the bad behavior of the staff is another big issue.
I do not recommend Austin Achieve, especially for families with younger students who may need more care and attention. My son was recently put on the wrong bus by staff, and to make matters worse, he was forced off at a stop that was not his correct drop-off location—without any confirmation from staff or ensuring his safety. This could have resulted in a much more serious situation. When I went to the school to calmly bring this issue to their attention, my daughter approached a staff member who was still helping with car riders and tried to explain what happened. As I waved politely to get his attention, he immediately dismissed me, stating, “I don’t respond to adults waving.” Ironically, this same staff member had no issue waving us down previously when my son needed to be picked up. Instead of listening to my concerns about the bus mishap, he continued to focus on my gesture, claiming it was “rude,” and refused to let me speak further. I was cut off mid-sentence and had the door closed on me. The lack of accountability and empathy was extremely disappointing. What if something worse had happened to my child? Should a wave really take priority over the safety of a student? It felt like he was looking for a reason to ignore the issue entirely once he realized a mistake had been made. If you have young children who may need extra care or supervision, I strongly encourage you to consider other school options where student safety and parent communication are taken more seriously.
