What Parents Say
5 reviews from parents
Our older daughter (now 7) attended Copernicus for 2 years and she (and we) loved it. When it was time to send our youngest to school, we knew from the beginning that we wanted to send her to Copernicus. There's been an ownership change in the interim, but the spirit of the school is the same. They spend lots of time outside, do all kinds of interesting activities each week, and build caring relationships with students. Just this week, our 2 year old got to (help) make ice cream, and participate in two color experiments as they work through their weekly theme. There's lots of communication with parents and our kiddo has friends and feels cared for. Would definitely recommend!
My son started in August of 2024 and due to us moving will be ending his time here in May 2025…it was his first time doing an all day program, twice a week and I’m so happy we came here. The staff is amazing and the curriculum is interesting and unique. They just had farm animals visit earlier this week and my son was so excited to tell me all about it. I wish I could keep him here until he was off to kindergarten but so happy this experience turned out so well. For everything they offer and being Spanish immersion, I think it’s also fairly priced.
My child just graduated from Copernicus, after being there for 2 years. We were incredibly lucky to find this school! The Administration and the teachers are caring and so great with the kids. My daughter loved doing the hands-on projects and learning Spanish. She learned so much and also grew her social skills, emotional intelligence, and confidence. I can't say enough good things about this school and what it has done for my child and my family. I highly recommend Copernicus STEM Academy to all families in Austin!
My daughter has been at Copernicus for nearly 2 years. She is absolutely thriving and loves going to school. The curriculum is engaging and all of her teachers have been so caring and communicative. The school has the most beautiful outdoor space where the kids spend a ton of time playing outside in nature. The most incredible bonus is the Spanish immersion environment. My family speaks zero Spanish at home, but my daughter is bilingual in English and Spanish…what a gift to give her in life. The owner, Amy, and the director, Yesenia, are engaged, enthusiastic, and attentive. Highly, highly recommend this school if you want a STEM-focused curriculum filled with lots of time to explore nature and a Spanish immersion program.
Our family has had an amazing experience at Copernicus! As an English speaking household, we were interested in exposing our children to Spanish early on. Their emphasis on outdoor play, hands on learning, STEM activities, and Spanish have been a great match for our kids. All of the educators are kind and loving. Our children have grown immensely while at Copernicus. We couldn't recommend it enough!

Parent Reputation
The academy has a highly positive reputation, frequently appearing in 'Top 10' lists for Austin-area preschools. Parents consistently praise the 90% Spanish immersion program, the hands-on STEM curriculum, and the large outdoor play space. A minor noted downside is that since most teachers speak only Spanish, detailed English updates for non-Spanish speaking parents are typically coordinated through the director.
Staff Insights
Employee reviews from third-party sites are not available; however, parent reviews describe teachers as 'career educators' who are nurturing and loving. The leadership includes owner Amy McClintic (UT Austin Business degree) and Director Yesenia Soto Rojo, who has a degree in Child Development and experience as a behavioral therapist.
