Creative Action After School at Decker Elementary provides a vibrant environment where students transition from the school day into a world of artistic exploration. Led by professional Teaching Artists, the program uses theatre, visual arts, and digital media to help children develop into creative artists and confident leaders. The curriculum is intentionally designed to foster social-emotional skills through collaborative projects and hands-on making. Operating daily until 6:00 PM, this program is specifically tailored for Decker families and is offered at no cost through financial aid applications. Students participate in diverse activities ranging from film-making to community-based art, culminating in a semesterly 'Final Share' showcase where families are invited to witness their children's creative growth. The program emphasizes a culture of equity, belonging, and joy within the school setting.

This is one of the best after-school and summer camps in Austin. My kids love it and they don't want to leave when I come to pick them up.
Creative actions is exactly what the community needs for kids! So much creativity as far as the projects they kids do.The staff is amazing and the culture is very chill and diverse! I wish I was able to have an after school program like this when I was in school.
I can’t begin to describe our gratitude to Creative Action Summer 2019 Camps. Our son has been having the time of his life! After rotten experiences at other camps around town, he was convinced that all camps were, “AWFUL!” I’m happy to share that he has fallen in love with Creative Action camps! He has made friends, art and movies. The Creative Action Staff has welcomed him with wide open arms and supported him since day one. We love Creative Action Camps and look forward to many more summers with their incredible programs!
