About Childrens Courtyard

Children's Courtyard with Live Video Access

This expansive center on William Cannon Drive serves children from six weeks through school age, utilizing the HighScope educational philosophy. This "Learning Pathway" approach emphasizes active learning through hands-on exploration and child-led inquiry. The campus features specialized classrooms for different developmental stages and a large, shaded outdoor playground for daily physical activity. A core feature of the program is the SproutAbout mobile app, which provides parents with live-streaming video access to their child's classroom. Beyond digital transparency, the center provides nutritious meals and snacks, as well as transportation to and from local elementary schools. The program also offers Spanish enrichment activities and flexible care options for families.

I don't have family that lives near us. These ladies have been an important part of my sons life and mine. In greeted with warmth from Lilliana, Briannalee and Melissa even at 6:30 in the morning. The flexibility i have here has been wonderful. I get videos and pictures all day from Valerie, absolutely love that. I can watch the cameras to check in and see him half way through the day. Maddy has been above and beyond kind and loving, she truly loves her job and making crafts with the babies, that i will cherish for a lifetime.

We started my child at Children’s Courtyard at 5 months old. We have loved the staff there, it is apparent that they care deeply for each child and love each different little personality. We especially love Ms.Maddy and Ms.Valerie who are both so kind, patient, and calm. Leadership at this school is equally amazing. As a first time mom, they have made the transition back to work so smooth through their understanding and excellent communication. I would enroll my kiddo 100 times over again.

Approaching the end of my maternity leave and having to prep to go back to work after my first child was never wrecking. I work close to this daycare and they have live cameras in the classrooms so after many different daycare tours and nanny interviews etc my husband and I decided to give them a try. I’ll have to say we’ve been more than satisfied with our experience here. My baby’s teachers have been so wonderful. Madison Ortiz is our absolute favorite, and has made having our first baby in a daycare such a stress free experience! They have an app that updates us throughout the whole day for each feeding, diaper change, nap etc. but upon pickup Maddy always gives us a verbal breakdown of the whole day. She’s so good with our daughter and our daughter is always so happy to see her. I even see other babies cry when she has to leave the room to go to the restroom or eat lunch and someone else has to step in bc they just want their miss Maddy! We wish she could go up each stage of “classes” with our daughter as she grows bc she just makes us so comfortable with knowing our baby is getting the best care. From being a nervous wreck about transitioning our 8week old daughter to daycare to now her being 5mo old I have a piece of mind knowing my daughter always greets everyone there with a smile and I can tell she enjoys being there. I’m so happy I gave them a try and am keeping my work etc in the area to ensure she stays here bc we are so happy with their service and care!

My baby was 9 months when she was enrolled so naturally I was very hyper vigilante about everything and they exceeded my expectations! Prior to Children's Courtyard my daughter was in a different daycare since she was 7 weeks old but due to the high cost I took a leap and switched her to The Children's Courtyard. I'm very big on reading reviews and at the time, it was a lot of negative reviews mixed in with good reviews. I made an appointment to tour the school and get a feel for myself. I met with Liliana who assured me that lots of positive changes and management changes had taken place as of recent (early 2025). I toured the infant room and met the teachers and was very pleased with what I saw. I decided to enroll her and it was one of the best decisions I made. Everything that I was told during the tour checked out. P.S you are able to monitor your child live in class through their app which is an awesome perk that many daycares do not allow which put me at ease. I am always happy to recommend this daycare to anyone needing great, affordable child care :)

The Children’s Courtyard on Willam Cannon Drive is amazing! The management is very responsive (Alexus, Melissa, and Lilliana) and have very transparent communication with parents. The teachers are always engaging in fun learning activities with the toddlers (we love Ms. Maddy and Valerie). A major plus is that they have taught him how to communicate with me through sign language. As a first time mom I was nervous to have someone else to watch my son but they put my mind at ease and my son loves it. He is 13 months and enjoys his time there everyday. 10/10, highly recommend. The facility is so clean and well taken care of. Everyone is friendly. I love having video access to check in and they send pictures all day. I love that they share diaper change, nap and feeding times.

Web Report

Aggregated insights from public records & parent discussions

Safety Record

Two lawsuits were filed in 2024 alleging physical abuse at this facility, including a July 2023 incident where a father reported seeing a caregiver smothering and slapping his son on a live video feed. State records from Texas Health and Human Services show 69 deficiencies cited over the last 60 months, with five violations specifically tied to the abuse allegations. Families also alleged the facility failed to report these incidents to state authorities as required by law.

Parent Reputation

Parent reviews are polarized; while some praise long-term teachers and the convenience of the live-streaming app, recent news of abuse and high turnover have significantly damaged its reputation. On Reddit and parent forums, families describe a 'troubling history' of neglect and 'bad vibes' during tours. Conversely, the facility maintains a high 4.9/5 rating on its own website based on internal enrollment surveys.

Staff Insights

The facility experiences high turnover, with state records indicating 24 employees left in 2024 and 20 in 2023. While some parents highlight specific 'engaging' teachers, legal filings claim management was negligent, allegedly only suspending an accused staff member for one day following report of abuse. Professional reviews from employees are not explicitly detailed in external search results, but the high annual staff exit rates are documented by the state.
