Both of my children, now 9 and 7, started at Open Door as infants and stayed until they graduated to kindergarten. Entrusting your baby to a childcare facility is one of the most vulnerable moments as a parent -- you just hope and pray that your child will be loved, protected, and truly seen for who they are. Open Door delivered that and so much more. The teachers and staff are not just caregivers; they are a true community. Every child is celebrated. Babies are always held, toddlers come home covered in glitter and joy, and older kids are encouraged to explore, express, and grow. My children thrived there, not just academically but emotionally and socially. What makes Open Door so special is that it feels like a family. The teachers know your kids deeply, they cheer for their milestones, and they nurture them through challenges. Even years later, my kids still light up when we talk about their time there and have lasting friendships that stemmed from Open Door. If you're looking for a preschool where your child will be loved, valued, and embraced for who they are, Open Door is truly one of a kind and one of the true gifts of my life.

Both of my children attend the daycare, and the support we've received—especially for my son, who has severe allergies—has been incredible. The teachers and the current school director, Christal, have gone above and beyond to accommodate his needs. I often spend time nursing my youngest in the baby room, and during those visits, I witness firsthand the dedication and hard work of the longtime teachers. They not only care deeply for the children but also take the time to mentor and guide newer staff. The team is also very open to feedback and genuinely committed to making improvements for the benefit of all the children. Over the years, we’ve built lasting relationships and genuine friendships with other families through the school, making it feel like a true community.

A Heartfelt Review for Opendoor Preschool on MLK I cannot say enough wonderful things about Opendoor Preschool on MLK! As a single mother, life can be challenging, but this incredible preschool has been a true blessing for my family. From the moment we walked through their doors, I felt a sense of care and understanding that goes far beyond what I could have hoped for. The staff at Opendoor is genuinely compassionate and attentive. They not only provide a safe and nurturing environment for my children but also actively work to meet their developmental needs. Thanks to their dedication, my children have grown in ways I never imagined—socially, emotionally, and academically. Opendoor went above and beyond to connect me with resources for speech therapy, which has been transformative for my child. They didn’t stop there—they also supported other needs my family had, making me feel like I wasn’t alone in navigating these challenges. As a single mother, having a village of people who care about you and your children makes all the difference. The team at Opendoor Preschool has truly been that village for us. Their kindness, support, and encouragement have lifted us up in ways I will forever be grateful for. God bless everyone at Opendoor Preschool on MLK for their unwavering commitment to helping families like mine thrive. They are not just a preschool—they are a beacon of hope and love in our community. Thank you!

Our son has been in Open Door for over a year now and we could not be happier. He started at another preschool before this and we were thrilled when a spot opened up for him here! It is his home away from home. We have recommended them to friends and family and love growing the community of ODP! The teachers and curriculum are the gold standard and it’s evident immediately how much they invest in their staff and the children they serve. Since starting at this location we’ve moved further away and will happily continue to commute here all the way to kindergarten. Our next baby will start here in the new year and we feel great just knowing he already has a wonderful place waiting for him when it’s time. Highly recommend!

I had many concerns when starting, just like any first-time mom, but the Director and baby room teacher were amazing at answering all our questions and working with us to ensure day one went well. Years later, every teacher she has had has been nothing short of amazing. They send pictures throughout the day, let me know when they notice something is off, and welcome me to be involved in activities. I did not want my child to be another number at a crowded chain, but I did not want a setting that only focused on preparing them to sit all day and take tests. They are the perfect balance of learning while playing for our family, and everyone there has quickly become part of the much-needed “village” that it takes to be a full-time working mom.
