About Little Folks Nursery And Bilingual Day Care Center

Little Folks Bilingual Nursery Austin

Little Folks Bilingual Child Development Center has served the Northeast Austin community for over four decades, offering a curriculum that emphasizes bilingual language development and school readiness. As a Texas Rising Star 4-Star provider, the program balances academic preparation with a warm, home-like environment often described by parents as having a comforting "abuela" vibe. The center focuses on developing the whole child—emotionally, socially, physically, and academically—through a Christian-based atmosphere. The facility features dedicated learning centers, interactive play zones, and outdoor spaces designed to spark imagination. A standout feature of the program is its exceptional staff stability; many teachers and administrators have been with the center for over a decade, providing a consistent and loving presence for growing children.

We've had 2 kids and 7 years with Little Folks. You won’t find a harder working staff caring for such happy and loved children. We've been through many life events with Little Folks as a partner to keep our kids development moving forward. We will miss them terribly and will always be grateful for how they have empowered our children.

Our son has been attending Little Folks since he was 6 months old, and we feel incredibly lucky to be part of this amazing community. We were on the waitlist for nearly a year, and now that we've experienced the school firsthand, we can confidently say—it was absolutely worth the wait. Now 16 months old, our son has already been in two classrooms, and the care, attention, and love he’s received at every stage has been nothing short of exceptional. The number one thing we love about Little Folks is the nature of the teachers. As a former educator myself with 10 years of experience, I know how important it is to have teachers who are not only skilled but who genuinely care about your child. At Little Folks, that care is evident in every interaction. From the moment you’re greeted at the Little House, Ms. Silvia sets the tone. She is warm, welcoming, and truly knows every child in the school by name. She’s not just the face at the front desk—she steps into classrooms to help with hands-on projects, keeps families organized with important paperwork, and even checks in with parents during stressful times. When our son was going through some testing at the doctor, she reached out just to see how everything went. That level of care means the world. In the classroom, we’ve had the pleasure of having Ms. Gloria as one of our son’s first teachers. She is kind, calm, funny, and full of wisdom. She never pushed, but always supported. When we had questions, she offered thoughtful advice and always took the time to share sweet stories at pick-up—something we deeply appreciated when our son was still too little to tell us himself. And beyond the love and nurturing, the teachers plan engaging, meaningful activities each day. It's incredible to see the little skills and interests our son has picked up since starting school. Now he’s in class with Ms. Cassi, who is a total sweetheart. I honestly don’t know how she manages a room full of toddlers with such patience and joy, but she does—and the kids thrive under her care. From painting and sprinkler play to reading and circle time, every day is full of creativity and connection. When we drop him off in the morning, he runs to give big hugs to his teachers, and it's clear how much he loves being there. This morning, as I watched his little friends greet him at the door, his face lit up with the biggest smile. Then he spotted one of his former teachers subbing in his new room and ran to her for a hug, melting into her arms. In that moment, I was reminded that even though it’s hard to be away from him during the day, he is in the best possible place—happy, safe, loved, and truly known. Another wonderful thing about Little Folks is the exposure to so many new activities and experiences. From sensory play and creative projects to outdoor adventures and early Spanish instruction, the school does such a fantastic job at helping little ones explore the world and build confidence. We couldn’t imagine a better place for our child. Little Folks is more than just a daycare—it’s a nurturing, inspiring environment where children are celebrated and supported every single day. We are so grateful to have found it.

My 2-year-old has been at Little Folks for a year and we’re about to put our baby into an infant class there. As someone with experience with a couple of other childcare centers, I can’t recommend the teachers and environment at Little Folks highly enough. Several of the teachers and admin have worked at the center for well over a decade and this continuity and high quality of care for both kids and staff absolutely shows. My toddler has loved every one of his teachers so much that he asks to visit them on days off and will tell you that they’re his favorite people. They’ve been patient with him during some difficult times in his attitude development and have been great partners in finding ways to support him. Communication has been solid throughout our time there, too. If you’re on the fence about a childcare center, I really don’t think you can go wrong with Little Folks!

Five stars is no question for us, Little Folks has been a part of our life and family for 5 years and if we could stay longer, we would. From the director, teachers, assistants and other support staff, each person there has loved our children more than we could have asked or expected. They provided support to us with our child who struggled at drop off and had excellent communication. Their COVID policies were exactly what our family needed to feel safe and comfortable. You’ll find a wonderful community of parents and families there as well! We have LOVED our experience at Little Folks and highly recommended.
