You know I was telling the birds A lot stuff That is truly life in someone else ,s thought F.a.c.e
Overwhelmed staff that is under-supported when it comes to de-escalation techniques. If something happens with your child they will quickly blame your parenting/the kid instead of accepting some of it is age appropriate or possibly even their teachers responsibility when they lack proper education & skills. Was a great school but feel it’s done downhill in the last year. Would not recommend their preschool program.
My kids attended the Y from Aug 2022 to Oct 2024. It is a gem of a daycare for the price. The teachers and staff are compassionate, kind, and patient. The sense of community among the kids, teachers, staff, and parents was truly special. We are so grateful for the care and support our family received here.
I found the staff here to be compassionate and professional. There is more of a focus on developmentally appropriate activities for younger children. The center is heavily play based. My experience at other daycare facilities is that I would get artwork completed by staff...cough couch ...World Kids. Now that my daughter is in kinder I found the transition to be very easy in part to the great work done here. I found the director Jill Mudge to be very responsive to any concerns I might have. I found the quality to teachers to be great. Especially Ms. Brandi, who showed so much compassion and skill with my very sensitive child. Additionally the lunch option was great. I have a child with allergies and they have lunches brought in for each child. I didn't have to worry about packing a lunch and during our 2 years with this facility and there were no allergic events...cough couch World Kids. Only con is that Westwood Village can have some unsavory people about. Its been my experience that the riffraff tends to come in the late afternoon and evening. Overall, though, I found my experience there to be great. The YMCA tends to attract better staff and Jill does a good job hiring great teachers.
